Interesting. Guess it answers the question I've been asking re. Milne...great news if this means he's staying.
Genuine local junior too, as is Alex Thomas. Dietz too I think played some time with Cloey I believe.
Yeah that's great news if it means he's staying. So much all round promise. One of the best attackers and defenders (easily) in the 20s comp. Really look forward to seeing him get some solid time in the 20s with two good halves feeding him early ball. He only played a few games last year but looked dangerous every time he touched the ball. He's growing into a pretty big boy too and will end up over 100kgs. If he and Moga ended up in the first grade backline on the same side of the field that would be scary as hell. They are both out and out centres though, but hopefully that doesn't mean we'll lose one of them.
Great to see Alex Thomas get some credit for a great season in an unfamiliar position. He really reminds me a lot of Jake Friend, especially with his running game which was great at the end of the year. Also very similar in defence, both get through a lot of work and are very strength and tough for their small statures. Considering he is also a very good 6 he could come into first grade contention for a bench spot in the next few years.
We've timed our junior development very well in my opinion. Some good forwards have been recruited or brought through in the last few years in JWH, Napa, Evans, Liu. So by the time this current crop of young halves and backs come through into first grade contention (guys like Hastings, Moga, Milne, MacDonald, Reuben and Naughton) the forwards will have an excellent mix of youth and experience with JWH hitting his mid-late 20s and Napa, Liu and Evans having close to 50 games under their belts. With older guys like Moa and Casty still around guiding those guys and the next generation of props through.

Yep Milne has the goods without question from what I have seen. With luck and hard work he'll make it.
As for Thomas, I'm really pleased for him. Came into his own towards the end of the season playing out of position. By all reports his attitude is spot on and he's the type of kid you cheer for because you just know how hard he's worked for it.
