  • squads for sundays trial vs panthers

very powerful NYC side named with Goodsell/Elliot/MacDonald/Hastings/Meehan all back in the fold, if these 5 plus Taane Milne play significant time in NYC we should be a decent shot at taking out the title, however you have to wonder if playing NSW cup against men might be better for their development.

NYC Squad: Curtis Naughton, Jack Goodsell, Brendan Elliot, Nene MacDonald, Tyler Cornish, Jackson Hastings, Braeden Uele, Bradley Dietz, Jokatama Dokinavalu, Jakiel Fuimaono, Vincent Leuluai, Willis Meehan , Harry Vanderhart, Mitch Mamary, Piki Rogers, Jake Lewis, Arthur Currie, Alex Lyons, Misieli Vaikeli, Johnny Tuivasa-Sheck

newtown/roosters squad to be named later today

though I read somewhere that it was free entry into centrebet stadium, would love to hear any match reports from people heading out to the game.

you would think whoever doesn't suit up in the WCC like Evans/Kara/Milne/Martin/Reuben/Houma will line up for Newtown on sunday.

JTS already getting a run for the NYC boys? I thought he was SG Ball age.

EDIT: Oh he's named in the SG Ball team this week as well, on a super-extended bench.

Be interesting to see Tyler Cornish as a (sorta) Canberra resident.

My understanding is that his brother Mitch will start in the halves for Canberra this year.

Any word on Tyler's talent? IMO in ~5 years time we might have an equally good team if all goes well.

From the 4 or 5 times I watched him, my take is that he's still a boy. Not a lot of muscle as of yet, but when he fills out he could be good.

Can find the try line and gets his hands on the ball a lot. Looks like a natural footballer to me, but probably lacks that x-factor.

Better than the last few NYC halfbacks we've had.
Making Steve Naughton look like Vince Mellars...

Tyler is the more gifted at that age

put it this way, Canberra were pissed when we scored him.

Reuben was the one guy carving us up last year during our home game v Canberra. Not sure how he's going but glad he's on our side.

Anybody know the teams well enough to comment on the names?

RTS playing is a surprise... wasn't his brother playing? If it's RTS then good to see he's almost there, but don't let him get injured!!

Evans, Langi... who are the other big guns? Do we have a pretty sweet team?

RTS probably isn't ready for a full game yet, might head down now that I've found that he's playing at fullback. That looks an exceptionally good side for NSW Cup standard.

Stranger not named to play this weekend or new signing from the Tigers J. Davis. Are they carrying an injury?
The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!

                          Here's looking at you, kid.
