The Harold Mathews played their first trial tonight verse the Bulldogs at Terry Lamb Reserve. After three 20 minute intervals Bulldogs won 44-8 (no goal kicks). Keep in mind Bulldogs scored 26 of their points with their first string line up in their first interval against a weak Roosters team with little experience.
SG Ball also played tonight but the game is still in progress...

good to see things havent changed, 11 tries in 60 mins of football????
7 tries in 1 20 min 3rd?????
i dont care if the bulldogs put their 1st string on, we shouldnt have a worst or weak team, if they are that bad they shouldnt have been picked.
then in the last 2 periods their second and thrid string beat our first string still
Rumour has it that the bulldogs have a number of kids with development fees attached, makes me wonder if the willingness to pay development fees has affected the availability of players for this club??
Do you mean the willingness of the Roosters to pay the development fees ?
I know there are kids that most likely have development fees associated with them in the Roosters junior teams, its a given really conisidering the number of local kids and the attitude of trying to get good sides. I don't think the Roosters are baulking at these fees.
For those that don't know, from what I understand, if a kid is playing SG Ball or Harold Matts for a club that he didn't play most of his junior football at, a fee is sometimes levied being paid to the association from where they came from.
I also think there are not a lot of contracted (ie paid contracts) kids in the Roosters squads, where as some other clubs may have more.
I am also being a little optomistic in thinking the Roosters HM side are just mixing it up a little to sort out what they have, so I would not read too much into the result.

How did you go JJ09?
I remember lack of game time was my main frustration playing at that level...

They (Bulldogs) did try to get rid of the 80% rule this year although didn't hear how it went? By the sounds of it it might not apply to them or anyone anymore...
Well, Christmas is over and the New Year is almost upon us - hope that all the boys in the squads for HM and SG are keeping up their fitness during this break period. Remember boys, be the best you possibly can be!! work hard - do you really want this or what!!!
