Fair enough kramer BUT his timing, momentum & confidence was negated due to his misfortune through injuries and suspension.
The ball's firmly in his court for season 2010.

Idris is bound for the backrow he only played Centre because he is so young and still growing. Let's wait till he makes his debut before we declare him better than someone who had an outstanding first year in the top grade

I don't mind if he gets suspended for ironing out his opposite number...

He will be playing with the big boys now though..

I used to think that aswell Kramer. I remember being at the prelim final against the cowgirls in 04 and a bloke by the name of Soliola had a screamer in the flegg.I said to my old man, "How good is this bloke gonna be".....and we all know how good he actually did turn out to be

Come on surely you haven't fallen for the Idris hype.....tell me what he did last season that was so outstanding? The press got hold of him and decided he was the anointed one and as a result he got rookie of the year. I think he's an average player. He's big and strong, but he's slow and ponderous. I agree he's destined for the backrow, but don't know whether he's tough enough for that gig either.

I still can't grasp as to how he beat young Dugan for the ROTY honours.

Neither can I. Or even Jarrod Croker from the Raiders for that matter. Both were infinitely better than Idris. Idris scored two tries in his first game against Manly, scored an infamous no try against the Dragons and was largely inconspicuous for the rest of the year.

HC I hate the dogs as much as anyone and the media hype about them last year was a joke but for a kid still in school his year he was impressive

We keep talking up these guys from the U20's last season and this guy was in the top grade doing it. I don't care if he should have got the Rookie of the year my point is let's see our guys do something first

I take your point, but to Ryan's defence I can't recall any player in recent years having a blinder of a season after a knee reconstruction. Lockyer, Willy and Bowen included. As far as suspensions are concerned he is on a suspended sentence at the moment and it will really hurt him in the pocket if he gets suspended again.

he was suspended for belting a front rower not a scrawny winger

That's what they say about every big bopper that plays out wide, years later, they are still there.
Problem with trying to convert centres to backrowers is the defensive workload that they usually fail to handle.

Yeh I understand that. It has been 2 seasons of disruptions for Ryan. Hopefully it's all behind him now, and he has sorted his injuries and personal issues out!

one plays for a high profile team who had a very good year, one plays for the least visible team in the comp

Yet clearly shines in a struggling team. I think that only adds weight to his case.
