  • Anyone know the Toyota Cup Team for Round 1?

I can't find it anywhere, anyone have any kind of clue? I'd really like to see the backline we field, it should be insanely dangerous wth the amount of young talent we have out wide this season.

Would have looked ALOT better with big bad Boyd Cordner in there instead of Nick Eshman, who I rate, but isn't as good.

Where is big John Leiataua? And I didn't know we signed Blake Williamson from Sharks...

A bit of a surprise with Leilua in the backrow and not in the centres with Blair going to the wing. It must be a reward for the good form shown in the trials by Kheirallah. I assume the Kennedy will drop back if he is not needed in 1st Grade. Does anyone know how long Pelo and Leolahi are out injured ?

I could be wrong but i think Martin Kennedy is too old for NYC.

That backline shouldn't be shy of points, shame about Hands being out for the season - I reckon this team could be have been smokies for a top 4 with him in there as well, should still make the 8 if they turn up to play.

Nick Eshman has been going great guns. I watched him play against the Tigers and IMO he was the best player on the field. His tackling is 100% top notch and he will be a key defensive player for us in and around the ruck. Although when Jerome Leolahi returns from injury in Round 7-8, Eshman will have to pick his game up another notch to keep Leolahi out of the starting side.

John Leiataua from what I can gather has been released for disciplinary reasons. Blake Williamson is a great addition to an already strong NYC side. He was with the Sharks NRL squad last season and not sure what happened for him to end up with us but he is a great player to have.

I mentioned Mark Kheirallah on another thread as one to keep an eye on. He is a very good player and is very evasive. Martin Kennedy is too old for NYC this year and Tom Pelo has been named on a extended bench for Round One from what I've been told. Leolahi is back in Round 7-8. He will be a big boost to us in the backrow especially with Boyd Cordner out for the season.
