Only way I see him keeping a permanent FG spot is if we don't keep Anasta. And if it was a choice between keeping Anasta and keeping Jones, for me Jones would be gone.

Disappointing but thats footy. Imo he could get an opportunity at a fair few clubs that are lacking in the halves department.

Much as I like Braith as a player I'm not sure I'd be choosing a player 10 years older and twice as expensive if it came down to a choice between the two.

That's where the Roosters have fallen down so many times in the past, gifted the good young blokes away to other Clubs and taken the more expensive short term option.

The kid has been with this club since the age of 15 and has had a lot of time and effort spent in developing him into the person and player he is. He's had no off field issues, has played well in a number of positions and is already a part of Qld origin future plans.

As far as I'm concerned Jones is a keeper. He will bite on us the backside bigtime if he moves on.

Given the huge disparity between what they're getting paid, Jones is the much better option

He is still very young. He hasn't found his place in the team yet, but anything can happen. He is a very handy player to have, as he can cover many positions. Injuries, suspensions, rep games. He will have some game time this year, will just need to buy his time and be patient
