The mental state of alot of the NYC players is pretty ordinary.

The only way to tell is to give them a couple of games in the NRL.

I think that Melon might like to rename it the Canoe Cup
I think there are more egos in NYC than there are in first grade (this being a general comment - not directed solely at the Roosters).

Most players in NYC seem to be playing to show off their skills rather than play for the win. This probably reflects the attitude of the clubs to NYC as well though...

great to hear he's excelling in offence.. seems to be a natural

Williamson.. well, apart from that youtube video. Can someone give us a reason why he deserves to be promoted?

Here we go again....writing a young kid off who has played a handful of games over the past two seasons due to injury.

Meh not writing him off. I just don't think he deserves an NRL jumper when he has not shown much 2 levels below the NRL. If he can show the sort of form that he displayed in SG Ball in the NYC, At Newtown and then NRL I will be thrilled. He is a long way off being ready for 1st grade. Whereas Kane Linnett is persistently knocking on the door each week after an outstanding season for St Merge in NYC last season.

Linnet is a speed hump of epic proportion. Others in the know have also mentioned it. Just look at his display in the final last year.

He is also one ugly MF mun.

having read on this thread that my old mate Willow has been playing shit footy i decided to have a look at his stats for last weeks game. They read 10 runs for 128m, 10 tackle breaks, 2 try assists AFTER READING THAT I HAVE TO AGREE HE IS A LONG WAY FROM FG

I don't know where you got your stats from mate but I don't see 2 try assists for Willo. And the rest of the backline ran riot as well so he is not exactly a standout. I think Towers,Linnett & Tuigamala are well ahead of Willo at this stage as they are doing the business Newtown which is a higher standard.

Ryan was also doing the business in the preseason playing for the Jets . Its a lot easier to stand out when you get the ball. He simply doesn't get the ball in the NYC like he did when he played for the Jets. I'll still put money on him being the first outside back to move into first grade this season from the lower grades.

Trial form is irrelevant otherwise he would be playing for Newtown NOW. If he was that close to playing 1st grade why would they have him in a team that according to you does not give him enough ball opposed to a higher standard where he according to you he was getting plenty of ball?

Don't get me wrong I hope the kid suceeds in fulfilling every ounce of potential that he might have. But I don't want to see him promoted above others who are playing better at a higher level.

Don't listen to him murry. The fact he rates a NYC drop out who was released by Bennett speaks volumes.

Linnett is a Roosters supporter and was offered a contract in our top 25. Whether Bennett wanted to keep him did not come into it imho.
