Heard he's been going well for the Jets. He dominated the Toyota Cup. Should Carney and Pearce get a look in at Origin time, is it possible he could get a shot at First Grade?

I'd hate to have him get frustrated, or get an offer to crack First Grade somewhere else, and leave the club, because he's very talented. Anyone know what Smith thinks of him? Or got any opinions on whether he'll crack the team at all this year?

I suppose, if he's patient, a year for the Jets will do a lot for his game regardless, and he'd be well ready for First Grade next year.

I think you'll find Jonathan Ford, who plays five-eight for the Jets, and who Brian brought along from the Knights NYC, get a run in firsts sometime this year.
Tinaru Arona is another one Smith will endeavour to blood before the year is out.

I am not convinced that Smith has too much confidence in Towers. It could be another case of the Jones issue, but Jets five-eighth Jonathon Ford played a fair bit of fullback for the Knights NYC in 2008/2009. Big bloke in the John Sutton style, but has a bit of Peachey about him at fullback too.

I tend to think they will go Mini at fullback and bring Linnett on the wing.

Towers could also play on the wing. Either Towers or Linnet would be deserving as they have been playing well for the Jets.

I wouldn't like to see either of them line up on the wing against Morris though. He has been in red-hot form.

I still have nightmares from when the Dragons targetted Perret a couple of years ago in an ANZAC day match. It was the worst game I have seen from a winger since Steve Mavins semi final for the Bunnies.....

Based on holding back Hayne away from first grade. Looking back, it was the right decision.
