Does anybody have info on this Tom Pelo bloke?

Fair dinkum, in the last two weeks he has scored a try right on the half time siren.

Tom Pelo has been out with injury but has made a good comeback. Plays some solid football, would not get close to being considered for firstgrade at this time though.

Personally, I would have had Leolahi at five-eighth or on the bench (instead of Goodwin), and had Eshman at lock. As good as Leolahi is, Eshman's defensive workrate at lock is pretty vital to the team.

At full strength, without Matt Hands and Cordner who are both injured, and Brunton and Jones who are floating around FG, we should be fielding:

        1. Stanley
        2. Kheirallah
        3. R Williamson
        4. Moeakiola
        5. Du Plessis
        6. Leolahi
        7. Murray
        8. Maliota
        9. Samuela
        10. Strickland
        11. Leilua
        12. Lowe
        13. Eshman

        14. Littlejohn/Goodwin
        15. Gelling/Namoa
        16. B Williamson
        17. Pelo

I've been impressed with his book-end teamate Isaac Maliota's performances. I reckon he's ahead of Tom to make his 1st grade debut.

            Definitely.

For the past two seasons, Maliota has been our best prop in the NYC, by a fair margin too. Seems to have plenty of ticker, and can play big minutes.

Gelling - didn't he play in the centres last yr?

My 2nd chance to see them this Sunday, plus I'm going to watch the Jets on Sat, the ultimate Rooster weekend...woohoo!

Yes Chookie74, he did play in the centres last year but in 2010 he's going strong in the 2nd row. He runs to the line with good speed & strength & has a neat step. Maturing really well.

In the next few weeks with the return of James Aubusson and Tom Symonds from injury to the NRL side, the likes of Ben Jones and Sam Brunton could return to the NYC side in what is shaping up as the best team on paper in the NYC. Also with BJ Leilua, Jake Friend and John Leiataua to return to the side in the next weeks coupled with players such as Cheyse Blair, Dane Atkinson, Asipeli Fine and Jacob Miller finishing SG Ball soon, a full-strength side would look like this:

                  1. Hughie Stanley
                  2. Cheyse Blair
                  3. Ryan Williamson
                  4. Ben Jones
                  5. Fine Moeakiola
                  6. Jacob Miller
                  7. Brad Murray (c)
                  8. Isaac Maliota
                  9. Jake Friend
                  10. Boyd Strickland
                  11. Ethan Lowe
                  12. BJ Leilua
                  13. Jerome Leolahi

                  14. Anthony Gelling
                  15. Blake Williamson
                  16. Sam Brunton
                  17. Tom Pelo

I didn't include JP du Plessis because I couldn't find any room for him in the backline, especially with the players named. Same situation with John Leiataua in regards to the backrow. If Boyd Cordner were available, this team would be go very close to winning the NYC.

What would Ben Jones learn from playing more NYC?

                    Absolutely nothing imho

It is most likely Ben Jones is playing NYC this week.
