Boys got toweled up pretty good.

Why does hughie Stanley get such big wraps?
Aside from speed I haven't seen anything from him that stands out. Fast fullbacks should be having a field day in NYC with all the room they get.

poor game today, too many errors.

i think Brian Smith should leave NYC selections to Scott Murray.

        4. Du Plessis (I still think this is his best position)
        5. Moeakiola
        6. Leolahi / Littlejohn (would be Hands if he was fit)
        7. Murray
        8. Williamson
        9. Brunton/Friend (one should always be in FG)
        10. Strickland
        11. Leilua
        12. Lowe
        13. Eshman (would be Cordner if fit)

        14. Samuela
        15. Gelling/Namoa
        16. Maliota
        17. Pelo

Add in the SG ball kids Cheyse Blair, Jacob Miller, Dane Atkinson, Asipeli Fine, etc

Du Plessis should be at centre, Leilua in the backrow. Both are in the right positions and their best positions too.
Unfortunately Atkinson and Fine have to play school rugby, scots and waverley, once the sg ball season is over, 20's might have to wait until 2011,a real shame as Atkinson's defense is like eshman's with 10 more kilos behind it, they were starting 12 and 13 last year at newtown 18's and were a lethal combo.

          Scuffy,

if their Rugby committments are short maybe they could play the final 4-6 rounds in U20's & possibly more if by miracle, we make the finals.

The team on paper looks very, very good but the performance was average against a very good side in the Tigers I thought. IMO the backline is the strength in this team but they saw very little ball, especially the centres Williamson and Moeakiola. Brad Murray didn't seem to be taking control of the game like he did the previous weekend. They started off very well I thought but towards the backend of the first half, they conceded 3 tries and were never in the game after that point. Although I thought Isaac Maliota and Jake Friend were our best today.

Dane Atkinson is a player I have really high hopes for. He is a very strong defender and has a good carry on him. He should definitely play NYC at the end of the year. Fine is also a very handy player to have but with a full-strength line-up, I don't see him getting a run with the calibre of our backs. He will be very useful in the future though if injuries strike or form becomes an issue with the backs.

Fine is a great ball runner and his defense is excellent. My issue with him is his two hand chest carry and complete inabilit to offload a ball once through the line. I can't remember an offload all season, he rarley looks for support players which is a real shame because his running and line breaking skills are great. Atkinson on the other hand is all quality, the best defender I've seen out of any team and has a great offload once through the line. Every one has talked up the Miller/Blair combo last week, but Atkinson's offload to Brent for the match tie up try was just as amazing as Miller's drop goal. He is the Dallas Johnson of this team, only already bigger. I think there will be 3 or 4 FG players from this squad, maye more. POS has done a great job IMO.

I agree. If Fine can work on offloading the ball through contact, his game will go up another step. He is quite big for an 18 year old and went well in the NYC game he played at the backend of last season if I recall correctly. He is a player of the future. Dane Atkinson should make the NSW Under 18 side this year along with Cheyse Blair and Jacob Miller.

My issue with him(Atkinson), a bit like Williamson is that he doesn't see enough ball, when he does good things happen, but the halves don't seem to use him enough. I think only having Miller and then several different halves has hurt our ball movement, he needs to be used like ben Creagh, he's got Hindmarsh qualities in Defense and a running style like Creagh, I saw him with his dad the other weekend, he's 2m plus.

On what I saw of Williamson, he is nowhere near first grade.

But great to see Jake back.

                      Crikey.
