Has Scott Murray improved as a coach or does he just have a golden team?

Scott Murray coached the SG Ball a few years back to a premiership

The kids are developing and he coach a few of them back in SG Ball. This is team that has been in the making for a few years and they are relatively young by NYC standards (ie could play NYC for a few more years)

Probably a combination of both. Murray is a good coach and his players are muturing and developing as players

Great news and we'll actually get to see them on Fox Sport 2 next week.

Interesting. Many here have labelled Murray as a dud.

Scott Murray is a great coach. the reason U20s are going so well this year is because he has full control of them. he puts out the team he wants each week.

last year he had little say, because Freddy would tell him what team to play, what game plan to play.

            well do Scotty.

To be honest I couldn't care what the results are in the Toyota Cup or S.G. Ball. Yeh it is nice to win but we are only a success if we are developing kids into 1st grade players. So many times I have seen teams and individuals dominate at the junior level but they end up playing park footy.

At that level the results shouldn't be put ahead of the development of the players. So I wouldn't be so quick to judge our youth coaches just on results, you have to look at the big picture.
