The thing being forgotten here with James is what effect, if any, the seemingly harsh treatment dished out to him by Easts/Smith, may cause his brother Mitchell. What if Mitchell doesn't like the way James is being treated? What if Mitchell decides that nobody treats his brother like that and if James decides to go Mitchell goes with him out of principle? Speculation I know, still I would prefer Easts not lose Mitchell. James can play, he has shown that he can play and injuries have cruelled him of late. I'd love to know what is going on.

            Don't get it ...
because he's a decidedly average hooker

not quick, not creative, and has a very poor passing game

He hits like a truck, he has a kicking game, he can pass if he concentrates but he doesn't seem to run out of D/H much. As I said, I'm confused and believe he can be much better than he's shown while he's been a Rooster. Whether he gets the chance to prove me right is another matter.

For once TOK is right here.

Jaubs was a terrible signing from the start. We signed him the same day we lost Craig Wing to me it was a knee jerk reaction to losing Wing.

With Friend there is no reason to keep Jaubs, Friend is better than Jaubs in every aspect of the game.

I know why some people don't like Watts he has a bit of a reputation on and off the field. That aside, I think he will be great for us. He will be good for us off the bench he will add a bit of pace from hooker something we are lacking.

When we first signed Jaubs, I had high hopes for him. His defence was great and with a background in the halves, I thought he would have a great passing game and plenty of creativity. The couple of times he filled in for Smith in Melbourne he looked real solid. Just hasn't developed at the Roosters. He has plenty of heart in defence, but I can't think of an area of his game that he is better than Friend....possibly his kicking game, but in all other areas Friend has him covered and is improving all the time.

                    What he said.

And he looks like Crocker with his head in a vice as well.

my only concern is that we upset Maubs by the way we have treated Jaubs recently and we end up losing Maubs at the end of 2011.

Maubs stuck by the Roosters when Jaubs went to Storm.

It may be different if he gets the 'Brian Smith Treatment' though.....

I heard Jaubs wasn't happy and wanted to move on.

Maybe he wants to try and cement a starting position elsewhere now that Friend seems to have the hooking spot pretty much to himself since his return and Koups as a backup.

How have we treated Jaubs badly?

He doesn't have a mortgage on a first grade position.

Looking like Crocker is bad enough, but a squashed Crocker, my God!
