  • Brunton not named in NYC this week

anyone know if Brunton was injured last week?

or is it another of Smith's mind games and he will replace Koups on the bench in the top grade this weekend.

The way he has been playing, he needs a rest. He throws his body at any moving object.
    Very courageous player.

brunton is the reason why i am still puzzled over the Watts signing.

brunton is a class hooker and really held his own when he had the opportunity in firstgrade.

His stocks plummeted in Smiths eyes, after letting in that try against Wests by getting steam-rolled by Laffranchi in the line..

He was hooked there and then, and has not seen first grade again..

Sammy has been given 3weeks off footy, he can only take part in weights and skills for training, No conditioning or contact. he will be back against Dragons, Brian Smiths orders..

very strange to give him 3 weeks off in the middle of a season unless he was carrying a significant injury.

safe to say our NYC side might struggle over coming weeks with him out, such a shame because they were on target for a top2 finish.

Samuela is no mug of a replacement, the boys should be fine.

Samuela has been very average this year.
The NYC team is doing great. If you watch Brunton play each week, you'll see why he deserves a break. We'll need him fresh for the finals.

Sounds like a good call to me.. Let him freshen up.. All the additional defense and niggling injuries have blunted his attack a little in recent weeks.

When Brunton played first grade this year, I thought he was great. The only defiency I saw was that he was a bit small for first grade. Maybe Smith wants him to hit the weights hard in the next few weeks to put a few more kilos on his body? Maybe Smith isn't happy with the Koups option either (if he did love koups, he wouldn't have signed Watts)? Maybe Brunton will find himself on the bench for firsts sometime during our run home?
