no doubt Miller and Blair are talented players, but if their attitudes are not up to scratch it might be a good idea to put our money/time/effort into players that are fully commited to the Roosters, we don't want another Williamson debarcle where we spent several years pampering to his every whim including giving him time off when requested only for him to walk away and now developing nicely in the Cowboys under 20's, I for one will back Smith on his decisions he has turned a wreck of a club into one that has started to develop some heart again.

on a side note if Blair did leave that would mean 3 outside backs from our starting top 25 from this year already gone Williamson,Du Plesis,Blair, I hope O'Sullivan has some outside backs (other than J.Carney) signed up for next year as we are very thin on the ground in that area, I suspect after the season is finished we will announce the signing of Ferguson from Cronulla.

I have to agree with you in terms of hoping not just on a "Roosters already have what he brings" basis.

Ferguson wouldn't crack our first grade side now ffs, let alone next year when we've (hopefully) improved

Whenever I hear of brilliant youngsters with questionable attitude I always think of Josh Lewis. Prodigious young talent who thought he was the ducks guts. Is now onto his sixth club for about as many first grade games.

There are a lot of factors that make a successful first grader, talent being important but meaningless on its own.

Lewis is currently playing for the Sharks feeder club, no?

Pearce and Carney were both very talented with very bad attitudes, they turned things around, I can handle losing miller, but Blair would have been a superstar.

Oh well cant keep them all i suppose

Lewis had some talent. But saying he was a prodigious talent is going somewhat overboard.

I don't get it about chayse Blair if it's true. I reckon he has the goods.

I disagree Fred, he was the star of a very good Saints Flegg team (this is back when Flegg was the closest equivalent to current NYC) and was heavily scouted out of Flegg.

My point is that being good in the juniors does not necessarily translate, particularly when the attitude is bad.

I'm not convinced the bit about blair is on the mark. Will see what I can find out.

I'd be pissed if we lost Blair, got plenty of potential and I still think his best position is fullback.

Blair, Miller and Atkinson have played together since u/10 on the North Coast. Cheyse was always a fullback until u/16, Jacob played centre/5/8 and Atkinson played centre, 2nd row and 5/8. The three of them complement each other superbly, hence all three selected for NSW 18's and our SG Ball victory. It would be a shame to break up this combination, it is rare and a winning one.

maybe the reason Atkinson is stalling on signing his new contract could have something to do with Miller and Blair being on the outer.

who would have thought 12 months ago clubs would be rushing to sign the cream of our youngsters, just goes to show how far we have come over the last 9 months.
