Who would you punt for him to make the first grade side, Pearce, Carney?. It was only a matter of time before he went which is a shame because he will be a star in a few years.

there is no doubting the kid has potential but he is kidding himself if he thinks he is ready for first grade, yes he would be thinking how the hell am I going to get a run behind Pearce/Carney but its not a valid argument yet.

there is no doubt the lack of quality halves around the NRL has forced some clubs to tap Miller on the shoulder and promise him the world if he leaves now and unfortunately the Roosters can't offer him a foreseeable path into first grade while Pearce/Carney are fit and healthy, I wouldn't blame him if he wanted to leave but infact it could be the worst thing for his development if he is thrown into first grade when he is not ready.

Money talks Fletch!! and the Tigers dangled a very sweet carrot at him, too much to knock back.

the question is whether he is still under contract with us?, I would find it hard to believe the club would not have him signed up for a couple more years given his obvious talent.

He is under contract but Uncle Nick has shown before he wouldn't stand in a players way to further themselves especially in Jake's case with Carney & Pearce ahead of him.

I would hope there would at least be a transfer fee involved if we are going to let the best U/18 half leave our club.

We met Jacob's uncle at a BP servo on the way home from the game tonight..

He reckons Jacob (& more importantly his old man) absolutely loves the place..

Hope he wasn't full of sheet..

                Go Easts.

                  Make him a fullback??

Haven't seen enough of him to make this judgment but the role of a modern day fullback basically is playing 5/8....

Then why did we need to shift Todd Carney..

Because he's the best 5/8 we have... Jacob is not, he's an 18yr old with massive potential. My question/suggestion is just about his possible future in our top 17.

Two totally separate situations and players.

Roosterfarian should be all over this one; massive reggae classic, one of the most dubbed Jamaican records of all time.

                        Baby I love you so
And this is what I really know
And if you should ever leave and go away
Baby I'll be slaving every day
                        Night and day I'll pray

He was moved because Brian Smith thought he was not handling playing at Fullback which he clearly wasn't.

                            Carney actually approached Smith...

But anyway that's all irrelevant, to my first point two different players and two different situations.

I'm not even suggesting it should happen just playing devil's advocate. Hoffman is a good example of a young 5/8 who has handled the fullback position well... like I said I haven't seen a whole lot of Miller so I'm not sure how he'd go there.
