  • Jason Taylor: Roosters U/20's coach !

    From the club Website:

Taylor to coach Roosters NYC Team
    19/10/2010 1:00:00 PM
The Sydney Roosters are delighted to announce that Jason Taylor will be the National Youth Competition coach for the Club for the 2011 season.

Taylor will bring his first grade coaching experience to the young team and work with the senior coaching staff to continue to create a pathway to the NRL.

Having previously played under Brian Smith, Taylor will use his close working relationship with the coach to assist in creating a team of young players that will ably fit into the NRL mould.

Taylor will also continue to work with the NRL team as kicking coach, something he has been doing throughout 2010.

“Jason has been a valuable asset to the Roosters in 2010 and we are excited about his appointment for 2011,” said CEO Steve Noyce.

“With his previous coaching experience we are confident Jason can take the young players and turn them into a successful team that follows the culture of this Club.”

Taylor too is excited about the opportunity to join the Sydney Roosters full time.

“I was delighted to be offered this opportunity and am excited to be taking on the challenge of coaching again,” said Taylor.

“There is something special happening at the Sydney Roosters and to be a part of that will be fantastic.

“We have a great group of young players here and I am looking forward to working with them and leading them into the 2011 season.”

The National Youth Competition players will return to training in early November.

i'm not too sure i rate him as a coach at all

sure he was great with parra coming in half-way through the season, but that's with most new coaches where a change is beneficial. Didn't do all that much with souths..

but i wish him the best of luck

This is a great signing, JT was royally shafted by Phonechucka and has been seeking redemption since.

Took 'em to the finals... that's as good as a premiership at any other club.

Couldn't stand him as a player.

I don't mind him as an analyst.

I can't stand his voice.. I am not sold on him but his credentials are not that bad.. I don't see him as our future first grade coach. I think Smith will want to be there for a long time to come.

So long as he doesn't go anywhere near first grade, I can live with this.
