  • Justin Carney playing for Newtown today

good to hear that Justin Carney made his return from a foot injury today for Newtown, will keep the pressure up on Leilua and Linnett for their spots in the outside backs.

wow that was a pretty quick recovery, guess it wasn't as bad as it looked, great news and with phil graham due to come back from injury in a few more rounds we'll really have some quality depths in the backs!

Jets got up 18-16 against a very weak Western Subs side, making it two wins from two this season.

Re. Carney, I think Leilua might be the guy to make room - very talented player, but not a genuine winger (as became obvious at some crucial moments last year). Still should feature in first grade, though, perhaps making some impact off the bench.

BJ is a great second rower/center in the making. He would make a great impact off the bench.

He gifted Souffs a try last week by coming in off his wing for no reason. One of my pet hates with wingers.

Great news for the tank. I think bj might have to shift in to the centers if Carney is to play first grade, I cant see bj going to the bench, we just cant drop anybody from the bench to have bj there, so if carney is to play first grade this year it might be at the expense of linnett
