  • Newtown Smelling of FG

This Newtown squad is starting to have the look of a real reserve grade about it with a bunch of FG players either coming back from injury or getting their first start with the club in our feeder club after the pre season.
Now we may see the FG players looking behind them at players pushing for positions.
    Newtown squad.

If the first grade team plays as bad this week their might be swaps about to happen for theTigers game

Yep But that will also depend on how Newtown go as well.

Yeah Newtown are looking very strong this year. The standard of the NSW Cup is very good this year, however, because Canterbury continue to be strong, Balmain now have access to the entire Wests Tigers playing squad (even the former Wests players), Central Coast used to be minnows but they've improved, Cronulla have access to Melbourne's excess first grade squad. But Newtown will go well.

Thats a weird arrangement. You would think you would want your feeder club / reserve grade team playing the same style as the first grade team, with the first grade coach having a say in who he wants to play where in order to trial things for the big league. It would be terrible for a fringe first grade players development to play in a mixed bag team each weekend.

Yeah I think so too. But on paper, I'm sure the Sharks are happy to have guys like Adam Woolnough coming up and helping with reserve grade every weekend.
