  • Just watching the Jets game ..

... and the prospective first grade players.

    Conn - Absolutely killed it.

Symonds - much the same although didn't feature as prominantly - got some shocking passes. Quality touches.

Graham - crap. Looked substandard against sub-standard competition.

Carney - meh, had some strong runs, but made some stupid decisions as well. I think people are overrating him at the moment. Solid guy.

Naughton - didn't stand out but likes roving around the field despite being on the wing.

Ford - rubbish in the 6. Replica of John Sutton minus the talent.

Rhys Pritchard - dances too much for my liking. Has some good speed.

Kheirallah - quality player. Made some dumb plays which you would expect from a young footballer but has good hands and pace to burn. He is one of those players that will exploit any little opportunity presented to him.

Mataka - big and strong. Very explosive.

Lama Tasi - great workrate. Bent the line with every hit-up.

Mate, i'm pretty sure he played 60 straight. Gave it his all too. Some trademark overhead offloads.

My concern though is he is a bit too small for the front row. Would make a great worker in the backrow - something our team desperately needs.

He should be interchanging with Myles at lock and pitching in for a bit of front row as well...IMO

Agree. He's perfect in that role. There was some talk of FPN being out, so that may well be how he's used. Not sure what will happen if Ryles is out also... guess we might see Arona or Tasi make their debut.

Did you like Fruean ? I thought he was lazy at times in defence.

Tasi was amazingly good. Pretty loose player though, fortunately the type of player Smith usually turns into gems.

Thought Naughton was better than Carney to be honest.

                  just finished watching the game:

Conn - absolutely outstanding he never stopped working and his offloads have been greatly missed in first grade as we have lacked second phase play this year, will depend if he has mended his rift with Smith as to how much first grade he plays this year.

Symonds - looked a class above NSW cup level however didn't get involved enough to make a major impact on the game.

Tasi - the sooner he is in first grade the better, a beast with ball in hand has a great offload, has a good motor always looking for work, probably would work well as a replacement in tandem with Masoe with one on the field at a time.

Naughton - like how he tries to get involved constantly, probably very unlucky to miss selection this weekend as he has done more than Carney recently.

Carney - where was his hard ball running seemed more keen to offload than take the hard charge, don't expect anything special this weekend he is not the player he was pre injury.

Ford - always seems to be in a hurry and out of control, no doubt he has natural talent just don't see where he fits into our first grade squad.

Pritchard - solid at fullback just doesn't offer enough to make it in first grade.

Kheirallah - I would love to see him trained as a fullback to replace Mini in the future he seems to have a try scoring instinct and has the speed and footwork to make breaks needs to work on his defence and get some more upper body strength.

Mataka - obviously well down the pecking list at the moment but has the size to make a decent bench player if injuries hit later in the season.

Graham - was absolutely rubbish, crabbing across field constantly, we are in real trouble this year if he is called into first grade.

Did Tasi play prop or second-row?

                      Prop. Right up the Guts.

                      2 line breaks.

Up front, made the performance just that more impressive.

would love to see Masoe start and then Tasi come on for him after the first 20 and then bring Masoe back for the last 20 these two would work great as an interchange tandem.
