  • Omar Slaimankhel

Gun fullback of the Under 20's over the past 2 seasons playing for the Warriors. Stuck behind Locke and Fisiaahi. I reckon this kid could be a huge star and we should look to sign him up as a cheaper option than Dugan. Anybody know what his contractual situation is?

I like the look of this player too from what little I've seen of him and with Henare Wells leaving for the tightuns, Kheirallah on the small side and not much else that I'm aware of in terms of choice at FB, could be a good idea.

His last name is too hard to pronounce.

If he changes it to Smith or Brown I am all for him.

I like it. I saw the thread title and thought it was going to be some kind of joke.

Having watched him in action, I think we should sign Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam.

Am I the only person here that watched The Wire and wants to sign this guy just so that we have someone called Omar on our team?!

also will still be elegible for nyc next year so maybe signing him up for next year to play next year predominantly in the nyc, keep mini on for another year for some experience in firsts and then give the kid the gig if he develops as planned. particularly considering wells is rumored to be leaving next year and returning home to the gold coast and alofa being too old for tyc, young javid bowen aside there is definitely scope for an acquisition and he would be a good fit. tbh i really did think that we should have picked up locke mid-season when the opportunity was there. external factors aside, his treatment and attitude at the time suggested to me that we could have snuck in and pinched him. this bloke however will do fine.

another young player id like to see us sign would be another young prop but in the workhorse mold. josh mcguire would be ideal imo. behind a few at brisbane, off-contract, young and starting to peak. there was talk of luke page being on his way to us for next season which i wouldnt be too disappointed about either. arguably not as good as mcguire yet but is a year younger and has been exceptional in the nyc for a little while now. throw is a young winger like oldfield and that would almost be sufficient in terms of signings imo with bosden already on his way

No, not now that you remind me. As long as he doesn't end up like Mr. Little.

I know I'll probably get flamed for this but we are in desperate need of some speed out on the wings.

While Michael Oldfield (Sea Eagles) and Peni Tagive (Dragons) are two players I'd like to see in RWB

another player who is super quick, great under the high ball, off contract at the end of this year and probably a bargain buy is David Simmons from the Panthers. Mitchell Pearce is pretty quick and yet against the Panther he made a clear break and Simmons mowed him down like he was running on the spot. Simmons also has good height. I think he could prove to be one of the bargain buys of the year (especially if Pearce and carney gave him some quality ball).

Funky, I've advocated Michael "No Relation to Sydney's Lyndon La Rouche" Oldfield as a gun, cheap winger for months.

I'm not sure about Peni Tangive though, he's a bit of a gimp when it comes to injuries.

Still, this would make a good backline.

                      Perrett
                      Oldfield
                      Linnett
                      SKD
                      Tangive

                      Won't happen though.

                      If I ran the Roosters...
