Pretty safe to say he'd be in the team if he started the season. He'd be on over 30 tries by now. Do they pick left and right specialist players or just the best two centres? If so Hurrell is a deserved winner of the left centre spot. Also think Ethan Lowe deserved a bench spot.

He would no doubt have been there had he not played SG ball for the first 12 weeks or so
Hurrell is a gun, seen him play a few times, not sure about Fonua

I know it would be highly unlikely, but surely if we went for 1 of the 2 Warriors young fullbacks we'd have a chance? They have 3 gun FB's and with Locke re-signing i don't see Fisiiahi or Slaimankhel getting too many chances
Fisiiahi is a brilliant player and only his injury which lead to Locke's emergence as a star has him playing NSW Cup, Slaimankhel on the other hand is a freak. 26 tries this year in 20's and is a fantastic defender at the back aswell, saved about 5 tries against Dragons this weekend and scored 1. Would love us to sign one of the two as a replacement for Mini, both young and very quick and will only get better.

Ethan Lowe extremely unlucky to miss out

Moga didn't play enough games to get a spot

Always knew letting Miller go would bite us, maybe we could get him back now he is stuck at the Tigers behind Marshall/Lui

i completely agree. the other player we could go for is young gagai - they have hoffman ahead of him as a fullback and seem to prefer yow yeh, beale and copely ahead of him as wingers. the wiser signings however for mine would be young cummins from the dragons or slaimankhel as both have a couple of years of 20s left so we could have them playing mainly 20s and then transition into firsts when mini retires. if we let go of carney, we should also sign the best young half going around imo with a view of having him replace anasta at the end of next year or the year after. miller or tuimavave as the team of the year suggests would be my 2 picks and when you consider that the warriors have maloney and johnson ahead of tuimavave who arent going anywhere in a hurry and the tigers have young sironen, lui and marshall all ahead of miller and miller is a junior of ours, i think we would have a decent chance of getting one of the 2. both also elegible for 20s next year so would work out perfectly.

EDIT: another prospect worth a shot in terms of a young 5/8 would be matt mcgahan from the storm. he is only 18 this year so has 2 years of 20s left and has been absolutely fantastic. formerly a union player and played NZ schoolboys sevens and union before moving to play TYC for melbourne. we has the family connection to the club so maybe he is the one to target if carney goes.

I think he was offered to us, but we knocked him back. Then went to the storm!

See that team there? That should pretty much be our shortlist for potential signings in the next 2-3 years. Chuck in the occasional big name for weaknesses that a young guy can't fill, and we are laughing.

Do you really think their current clubs would willingly let them go after how good they have played this year?
