  • Ethan Lowe leaving the Roosters?

just reading the end of season wrap from Jason Taylor on the Roosters website and he mentioned the players that were training with the NRL squad over the offseason and they included Jack Littlejohn, Issac Liu, Alofa Alofa and Glen Dumbrell he also mentioned that TauTau Moga would not likely be playing NYC which means he is likely to be a first choice centre/winger in frist grade if he continues to develop over the off season.

its a worry that he didn't mention Ethan Lowe because the latest news he was weighing up and offer from us and several other clubs, one would have to think he might be one of the backrowers squeezed out since Takarangi and Guerra extended their contracts, such a shame if he goes he definately offers much more than FPN/Symonds and possibly Cherro depending on how he returns from injury, also their must be some longterm concerns about Maubs given how often his shoulder has popped out during his career.

judging by what i'm hearing Moga/Evans are both in our top 25 squad now, which is great to see.

Agree, Moga and evans IMO are the only players in our NYC squad that look close to ready for an NRL trial, Lowe is good but not good enough to be throwing big $ at. If he gets offered the $ let him take it.

He confirmed it tonight that he probably won't be here next year... What a real pisser !!! I really thought he'd be a Ricko or Fitzy type player for us & be here for ages.... I'm pissed at losing this young bloke !!

so am i but as i said a month or so ago, the club had a choice between him and guerra imo. 2 players that play very similar games. i cant criticise the club for going with guerra but he is obviously a big loss. im probably on my own in saying this but im not sure takiarangi and arona in particular. although both seem to offer a lot, it seems to me like a bit of unnecessary depth and maybe their losses would have convinced ethan to stay. In any case, there are only 17 spots in first grade and we have gone a long way to filling those already this year so he is probably making the right personal choice

We can't keep em all, just shows how bright our future is when we don't have enough room to keep the kid.
He would rot at Newtown to be honest, although we should have signed him for an extra year incase Maubs and Cherro break down again..

+1, i'd rather Lowe to Tackairangi or Arona. Can't see what all the hype about Tackairangi is based on....yet

Agree Arona isn't nrl material just yet. Taka is a good ball player with great footwork, hard defender a
and can handle the nrl, he will be much better in 2012 preseason under his belt and cookisland game. Lowe could take a couple of years to make nrl and theres no guarantee he will make it.

arona is a good player just playing wrong postion he needs to be playing lock instead of front row good ball player and good on his feet

If Lowe has been offered a first grade spot elsewhere then good luck to him, but if he goes somewhere like the Dogs just to be depth and bump up their reserve grade I'll be irritated tbh. Jacob Miller should still be at our club but we let him go for some bizarre reason only for him to play 2 First grade matches with the rest in the NYC at the Tigpies, it's just crazy - he should be fighting for a starting place in the halves right here.

No strange reason Elo. Fairly simple in the end.....$$$. He didn't want to go but the Roosters would not match what the Tigpies offered > $90K p.a despite us nurturing this talented kid since the age of 15.

Will be a huge loss if he goes. He is exactly the type of high work rate player in the backrow that we lack, reminds a lot of Fitzy.

We had him contracted for another season Gman, there was no reason to grant him a release at his age no matter how good the deal was at the Tigpies.
