Who cares?...We'll just use one of the thousand back-rowers already on the books!

I totally agree, Jacob would have been at his best playing NYC for us & as would have been the case, playing alongside Pearce.
Maybe Uncle Nick should become tougher and less compassionate?

I always think of that Williamson kid, all the pootube hype, he was a dead set myth.

It's very difficult to assess a kids worth, especially forwards, in the 20s IMO. The quality of the footy is very sub standard and far removed from 1st grade. They all seem pumped on the juice but have no real life experiences to call on when the shit hits the fan, as it always does.

IMO the QLD Cup does it better. Old Skool footy, blokes have jobs and play against hardheads who teach them life skills.

The quicker we sort the so-called independent commission out and get back to 3 grades of progression the quicker NSW will again compete with QLD. That IMO is why they dominate Origin so much recently, the gap between QLD Cup and U20s.

        The FlogPen .

        You know it makes sense.

Williamson doesn't want to play nrl, if he did he would be with parra or panthers next season.

            Farrken oath backwards!

As soon as they bring back at least reserve grade, the better!

Remember going to the footy early to see how the 'dropped' superstar went in reserves?...Good ol' days!

Couldn't agree more!! I have a mate who played Jersey Flegg and then NSW Cup before moving to play in the QLD Cup and he reckons the difference in quality is huge!
We need reserve grade back, ASAP

The dumbest decision ever was punting reserve grade!

Should be the number one priority for the Independant Commission.

Agree but also raising the NYC age restriction from 20 to say 22 would strengthen & improve our game imo. Most players need those
couple more years to fully realise their potential instead of leaving our code altogether.

There was nothing wrong with the Under 23's/Reserve Grade/First Grade "trifecta".
                        Dumb decision scraping it!

The jump from NYC to First Grade is massive.
The current NSW Cup is mostly full of has-beens and wannabees. The Qld Cup is a much better standard!

If Gus was responsible in any way for the current NYC system, his malaka-ness is growing by the day!!!

raising the age of 20s to u22 and reinstating reserve grade in place of NSW cup is the ideal model imo. u23s is too old for 20s imo - u18s --> u23s is too big of a step but 22s is the right age imo and by that stage, most players should be good enough to go straight to firsts and if not play reserve grade which will help to reconstruct the depth of clubs that has been lacking in the last few years

I'm 100% sure that the chief architect behind the U20's concept was the once dictator of Parra - Denis Fitzgerald. In 2005/6 (?) he headed a committee made up of a handful of CEO's (Noyce was one of them) whos charter it was to restructure Jersey Flegg and the lower grades. What's transpired since the inception of NYC 2008 can be attributed to the ego-centric, self absorbed Fitzgerald who at
the time must have been thinking....we're right, fark the rest of youse....Parra's got a good nursery of juniors and always will. Well,
well, well......KARMA. Parra made the finals in the inaugral year but have struggled since. Their young talents are playing elsewhere
i.e Buhrer, Taulima, Albert Kelly, Matt Wright & best of all, Fitzgerald is no longer.

They are kids essentially who won't listen or haven't developed yet. When I was coaching a Opens school touch team I had a reasonably good winger who wouldn't listen to his inside men (who were guns) at all & generally gave them & me the shits because of that. I dropped him to the B side. Two years later he was playing in a rep side. Its all about the person's development as BOTH a player and an individual and you cannot keep them all until they get it right.
