imho Lowe was the best young talent in the club. It was just a shame it was in a position we are loaded in.. I really like Taka but would have prioritized Lowe over him. The whole reason behind reducing the age limit to U20's is for one reason. To save money..

Ethan Lowe leaving the Roosters?

U20's should be capped at 20.
It gives young kids a massive gateway to an elite competition and in NZ so many Union kids are now realising that League not only is a good pathway for there footy but a hell of a better game.
It costs more since Toyota Cup was established to pay these kids there schooling, scholarships, but in all Ethan Lowe has been massive for the Roosters since day dot, Id prefer him over Cherrington who is a myth and Taka who strung a few good games together, give this kid a go because he is one we will regret losing.

on a side note, even though in the grand scheme of things we have the depth to cover for the losses of the likes of lowe and blair, it does question the decision making of management imo. to re-sign taka and symonds who are very similar players as well as arona and cherrington while releasing lowe is a questionable decision even though cordner, aubusson and guerra are likely to stay ahead of him as our first grade backrowers going forward. similarly, signing that tupou bloke from parra who hasnt a rep game to his name, has far from flattering TYC stats and is inelegible for NYC next year and releasing cheyse blair who has the potential and another year of 20s ahead of him despite being yet to deliver on it is questionable. even henry from the warriors seems an interesting signing when it is in the face of losing the likes of blair.
when you throw in the fact that miller was released a year early when carney was in a far from stable state in his personal life last year, it does raise questions about our retention policy even though it wont affect our first grade side too much going forward. i would have however prefered us to be favoring some of our own products over bringing in the depth from elsewhere are letting them go

Mate you obviously know football about as well as you know good humour.
Roz, I agree regarding Daniel Tupou. That's a very strange signing. Blair would have been a better prospect on the wing than this bloke from what I've seen of both players, which tbh is only one game from Tupou. But the Adam Henry signing is a smart one. I'd say they may be looking at him as a 5/8 option with Littlejohn playing for the Jets next year.
Got to disagree on the second row situation. Obviously the Symonds resigning was way premature and not very smart given his form at the time that he signed. I don't see he and Takairangi as similar players at all other than the fact they are wide running second rowers. Taka is used in the middle of the field much more because of his offloading ability and also because he is much bigger and a far more effective defender. Lowe and Symonds are very similar however. And the mistake to sign Tom to such a long term deal unfortunately means there is no room for Ethan, who for mine offers more even when both are in top form. Better defender, higher workrate, and has excellent offloading ability.

we did it once 1999-2000 =2002 , Parra in the late 70's . probably dogs around same time . Manly even to a degree and definately Melbourne too .While for the Bronco's its a regular occurance probably by having good management in place and the biggest nursery of them all .
So let me go back to my hoe's and don't interrupt me again

Yeah mate he's definitely signed with the Eels for next year. A bit of a shame in my opinion. With a bit of luck he could have come away with 4 tries in the 2 finals games this year. He certainly can create a chance. I think he will surprise a few on here and go on to far bigger things at parramatta either at right centre or in the back row.
