  • Another young gun signing!

    **I believe he's a fullback

The Sydney Roosters have secured the services of up-and-coming New Zealand Schoolboy Roger Tuivasa-Sheck.

With a number of NRL and rugby union clubs keen to sign him, the Roosters have signed Tuivasa-Sheck for the 2012 and 2013 seasons.

A standout player at the recent New Zealand Secondary Schools rugby league tournament, Tuivasa-Sheck, 18, captained Otahuhu College to victory.

A natural footballer, he also recently represented the New Zealand national schoolboy rugby union team against the Australian schoolboys.

Roosters recruitment manager, Peter O’Sullivan, believes that Tuivasa-Sheck has a big future in the NRL.

“It’s very exciting for the NRL and rugby league that Roger has decided to pursue a career in our game, as he has a great passion for rugby league.

“Roger possesses brilliant footwork and speed and with the interest in him from other NRL clubs and the Auckland Blues, this is a real coup for the Roosters.

“Off the field, Roger was school captain and comes from a strong family unit. He will be balancing his football commitments with study at Sydney University and we are all looking forward to watching him develop on and off the footy field over the next few years.”

Tuivasa-Sheck’s recruitment is in line with the Roosters policy of signing young players with whom the team can grow.

Tuivasa-Sheck will officially join the Roosters when the squad begins pre-season training next month.

Sounds good... I just dont read too much into POS thoughts on players after his Sisa Waqa comments of beiing combo of Folau, Inglis, and some other star all in one...

        Add JP Du-Springbok

1 of those has gone on to play regular footy for the rebels, the other to put in some stellar performances with plenty of points involved for the sharks. the kid is the nz schoolboys fullback and from the bit of research that ive done, he was more certainly highly sought after and has plenty of ability. whether or not he plays first grade is now not a question of ability but a question of attitude, his ability to adapt to life in aus and our coaching staff's ability to develop him and nurture his talent. considering he was school captain at one of the big private schools in NZ suggests that attitude will not be an issue so its down to the coaching staff.

          good luck young fella

Roz, he did not play 1 game for the Rebels.. He spent the season playing club rugby in Sydney and Waqa playing stella football in a second rate competition is hardly a combination of Falou and Inglis..

POS also called Ben Jones the best young talent he had seen in more than 10 years.

                Welcome Chiang kai-Shek.

May all of your many mistresses have perfectly formed breasts and sweet smelling rosebuds and may you lead China (and the Roosters) into a period of glorious prosperity.

Gould also said Jones would play origin.

                    Opinions arent the issue here.

I'm satisfied that at least POS is identifying talent and signing them in a position we do need to replace after next season. I look forward to watching this kid next season in the TC.

He also said Danny Williams would play State of Origin. Artie's scouting should have been limited to sourcing the best meat pies.
