It might take him a little bit to get up to speed with FG, but I reckon he will be twice the player William Hopoate is.......
    I agree.

It is obvious why they call him the next Israel Folau. Anyone who knows anything about the game can see he is a superstar. In five years he will be the best centre in the game and I, for one, hope he is a rooster for life.

the best part about this news is the fact that it buys us time in which to blood him in first grade ie if we decide that he isnt quite up to it this year and he has to wait another year, another club cannot poach him away at least for a couple of years by offering him a permanent first grade spot before he is truly ready (a bit like what we did to manly with tasi in particular). fantastic news nevertheless and I have a sneaky sucipion that he will cement himself a place in our backline by the end of the year

Is the rule after 10 years half your salary isn't included in the cap?

I guess he becomes the replacement for Mini in the veterans category then

It is a $100K discount I believe and can be used from memory by 2 players after 8 years service.

I thought it was 200k, and i'm pretty sure as many players as the club wants can be included in it as long as they've done the 8 years.

It is 200k per club maximum, regardless how many veterans the club has.
I think Sammy and Braith qualify this year if not next, along with Mini who has qualified for a few seasons already.
Would have been nice for us if it was per player.

8 years ago we were playing in the GF every year..

I can assure you Anasta was not at Easts when this was happening..(Debut 2006)

Perrett debuted in 2004, so next year will be his 8th year at Easts..

                          Mini (Debut 2000).

If he debuted in 2004, wasn't 2011 his 8th season?? Or did he debut late in the 2004 season and so that season doesn't count?

                              Correct 2011 was Perrett's 8th season at Easts..my mistake

I don't know what and when the rule is though..

I just know Anasta has not been here for 8 years, but it is closer than I thought..

Let's hope it stays that way.
