I think you might find that in books written about Souths there is a different story told.
It has to also be recognised that some clubs made their own decision to go to Souths juniors (not just play in the comp) due to uncertainty regarding if Easts would look after their clubs.

There have been plenty of mistakes made by Easts in regards to their juniors, but there has been manipulation of the history regarding the change by Souths.
While Noyce at the helm at the Roosters the juniors will be looked after much better
