Ive watched this kid play and ive got no doubt about his ability , i feel all the publicity and expectation already reaped on this kid is not going to do him any favours , 1st grade is a massive step up he hasnt even played for the jets yet i hope they blood him in slowly and give him a chance to develop so he can show his true talent , it takes easily 2 years to get used to the mental and physical demands of 1st grade i hope we dont expose him to quick and that he comes through newtown your thoughts ?

I agree that from U/20's to First grade is a big step. He may have had great trial form but it's a trial game.
From a development point of view I think a few games for Newtown can see if he truly is a level above the rest. He has been getting too much hype.
I'm excited to see him grow with our team.

I was definitely one of those singing his praises last year however after watching him in person on Saturday night, I think he may be found out defensively as he struggled - especially in the first half. Evidently he did have Carney outside him but I paid particular attention to him and could see him unsure of himself in certain defensive situations. This lead to poor reads and a number of misses.Exonerate the West Memphis Three - www.wm3.org

Unfotunatly the structure of the lower grades makes it too easy for under 20's to take the step to first grade.
Creating the NYC as the step to first grade was a huge mistake by the NRL, it now makes Reserve grade (NSW Cup) as a kind of void between the 2, there is now a major gap between NSW cup and First grade, when it should be the stepping stone to first grade.
Don't think Moga would benefit from a stint in Newtown, would hinder him. He's too much of a talent.

Tau will be fine. When the center/wing spots are settled by smithy the boys can start getting used to playing inside or outside each other, working on thier combination with each other. That carney kid the other night was so far off his wing i thought he was one of the centers a couple of times and he paid the penalty for it when smithy took him off.I thought that if carney was where he was supposed to be on the wing, at least 2 of those trys would have been shut down by moga sliding in defense and tackling his opposing center.Only my opinion.

either that or the state leagues need major rejuvenation - particularly in NSW.
I really hope the commission is onto this.

And im pretty sure Brian Smith and POS are probably in the best position to make the call on if Moga is ready to make the step up or not... Besides it was POS who found Folau and Inglis, so Im sure if they reckon he's ready to make the step up to 1st grade, then he's ready !
