    NYC Scoop: Roosters
    Adrian McMurray
    21/03/2012 5:00:00 PM
At the end of 2011, the Sydney Roosters boasted one of the best kept secrets in the NYC with a youngster called Tautau Moga lining up in the centres.

Fast forward to 2012 and Sydney Roosters coach Jason Taylor is resigned to the fact that he will be without arguably his biggest strike weapon for the foreseeable future.

“He would’ve started the season in first grade if he was fit,” Taylor said, giving an indication to how highly the 18 year old Moga is regarded at the Roosters.

“If he was to play a game or two with us this season, I’d imagine that would only be due to Brian Smith wanting to get a bit of fitness under his belt now that he hasn’t started the season with the team.

“I don’t expect to see much of him at all.”

The NYC Roosters have bounced back from their Round 1 loss to the Rabbitohs to post two solid wins over the Panthers and Raiders and the side is still brimming with talent.

Taylor revealed to www.sydneyroosters.com.authe top performers from the opening rounds of the season.

“Roger Tuivasa-Sheck has played fullback for the past few weeks, and I’ve really been impressed by his form. Just the way he’s applied himself.

“He spent a lot of time with the NRL guys in the pre-season, and for me he’s been the standout of all of our players over the three games.

“Joseph Forrester has been good for us. He got Players’ Player against Canberra. It’s his first year in the NYC - he’s from the Northern Territory, so it’s been a big jump for him and he’s handling it well.”

Prop Tai Tuivasa has also played well, with three tries from as many games - an impressive record for a front rower.

“He was really important in Round 2. He scored two tries, including the winner. He too spent a fair bit of time with the NRL squad in the pre-season, which is good experience for him,” Taylor said.

Was at the game Sunday, and have to agree with the players, Joseph Forrester played well against the Raiders and I liked what I saw.

Sure is. Looks sort of like Greg Inglis......without as much talent.

While RTS has been good over the first three weeks for mine the standouts have been the two front rowers Kane Evans and Dylan Napa. Gee these two are top shelf.

Watched RTS, super light on the toes, steps both ways, I reckon he could just about, out-dance Fred Astaire.

Strong, big and fast, the other guys seemed to like him too, all wanting to congratulate him. My picture in my head was when, it almost appeared that his team mates watched smiling and in fascination, as he busted the Raider's line to score a try. He was a handful for the Raiders defenders at speed.

Tai Tuivasa's old man was a boxer and MMA fighter. Tai's into it as well.

Willie and Louis Meehan are both in our ranks. Kali's boys. Think that's who you're referring to Brain. Will can play too, big lively second rower.

Also, your boy Brett Lane appears to be lining up for the Dogs against the Jets this weekend. Must have transferred after realising he had too many in front of him in the coach's mind.
