I watched this video before the Warriors game, and thought the same thing. They run more second man plays in that game than we had in the entire four rounds.

It is also remarkable just how badly Williamson's development stalled entirely. There is no denying that he was dominant at the age.

It may be that the defensive structures are much tighter in 1st grade over the lower grades mate???

Often lower grade scores are in the 32-30 sorta range from my observations. I rarely ever see 14-12 score lines in the lower grades.

I know our 1st grade game plan isn't always what we would like to see. But I believe what we saw this weekend had a lot to do with having a second attacking option in Mitchell. He gave crisp service and gave Pearce room with the threat of another attacking point. That's what I saw anyway.

        You know it makes sense.

I'd give him the season in the 20's, maybe a game or two off the bench at the end of the season, and then reassess at the start of next season. Got to be patient with RTS.

You could still run the plays in 1st grade, they just wouldn't produce tries as regularly. They are very simple mate, just a decoy and a pass out the back, unless the defenders are metres off-side you can't really stop an opposition executing them.

I agree re Mitchell. Friend needs to learn to pass straight off the ground, like a union halfback.

It's funny, Pearce cops so much crap on here he'll soon be underrated.

IF I was Smith I'd put him straight to 5/8th in 20s. Yes he definitely needs a full season of NYC before you even look at him for first grade but we need someone with that X-factor in our halves! Maloney will end up being a knee-jerk buy.

Maloney leads the NRL missed tackle count by a country mile! Wait till the masses here get a hold of his defence next year!

If we wanted someone who could tackle we would have signed another second rower.

I take that back, Rasta may be onto something here.. his d was shocking against the Raiders... Needs massive improvement.

We signed Maloney for his ability to set up and score tries, not stop them. Defence is not our biggest issue, attack is.

We have forwards whose job it is to tackle and stop the tries. Halves have the job of creating them.

Sheck needs at least a season in the 20s before he is anywhere near first grade standard. And if he going to play FB he needs to learn to catch bombs on the full, rather than let them bounce as I've see him do more often than not when I've watched him live.
