I was at the club on Saturday night and a mate of mine was telling me how he was at a freinds place earlier in the week and this guy gets a call on his mobile. The person on the other end of the phone tells him that he has a virus on his PC. Not being an idiot, the guy asks all number of questions like:
What virus is it?
Which PC is it on as I have 4 computers?
etc, etc
Now this is something new. I guess they were hoping that he would grant them access to his PC to "fix" the problem and as a result have access to their files or install a keyboard logger.
Anyone else heard of this before? Might be worth telling people you know that are not that clever.
I did not get this info via email, my friend was there when it happened.....matter of time before this appears in the media I would think. Especially if these crooks have any success.
