  • what a farce our game is becoming..

for those who didnt watch the dog-dragons game..

1min left dragons down by two, chip kick put in and dugan given a bit of a shove, ball goes loose barba runs length of the field to score a potential try.

ref rules no try, video ref confirms that dugan was interfered with and dragons get a penalty where ball landed 32m out. soward misses the kick, dogs win anyway.

the really stupid thing about this is, that if barba runs the lenght of the field and runs over the touchline or is tackled a 1m short-game over no replay and no chance for dragons to shoot for goal. but because dogs score a try that they did not even need to win the match, they almost lose it??

for me that has now put the video replay into an even grayer area than it already was when these things happen. im happy if they do away with it for good or if it is just used to check the final grounding and that is it.

thats not the point HIG, point is how the video ref is used,if pritchards hit was a bit harder and did 100% deserve a penalty which would only have been given had barba scored, where the same advantage is not deservedly given had a potential try not been scored. thats what makes it a bit of a joke.

Yep Maxwell should've called the penalty straight away if he thought Pritchard was late..

Also on the Dogs/Dragons - am I the only one that saw similarities between Ah Mau's tackle and JWH's?

i still think jwh's hit flush in porkys head. tonights one seemed to contact the shoulder first. they only showed obe angle of it so i cant be sure.

No. Not the only one Roostarz. I said the same thing. There have been a few tackles similar to JWH's since the incident, but none quite like this one.

yeah that eats balls 6, but i do think it was the right decision, just dont like how the penalty wld not have been awarded if barba just ran it out, same crime but totally different punishments.

Yeh I agree with you, I don't feel hard done by or anything. What I also find a bit strange is that if that was with 45 seconds to go the Bulldogs would have eaten up every second with their try, celebration etc and left the Dragons with no choice but to take the shot at goal rather than allowing them the choice for 3 or 4 tackles to try and score a try.

                      It really was bizarre.

Who is to say he wasnt going to call penalty after the play finished?..

Well i suppose he did go to the video Ref about the decision

                          bump

add the hayne "try" to the rediculous decisions we are seeing these days. the vidiot had a chance to not make the game look like something run on a 20$ budget last night, but he chose to give us another reason to laugh at it.
