That article explains why refereeing is such a mess. Clark would have been sacked for awarding a double movement try if it had been referred to the him (as video ref). Clark still disagrees with his bosses no-try interpretation but doesn't get reprimanded for it.


The referees don't agree on the interpretation of the rules, and refs are only punished after the fact. A ridiculous situation.

One week off playing golf isn't going to fix anything.

They need to look at a referral system to minimise the errors. That won't resolve any dumb calls made by the video ref but it should eliminate some dumb referees errors. They might also do with a second ref in the box.

NewsRL proving again they prefer to react rather than act, like the games OWNERS should do.

The final series debacle proves it IMO. It's only taken 15 yrs to admit they made a mistake and went with the Wong finals system, and have chosen the one the ARL originally had.

Oh that's right they didn't actually react in this case, their so-called independent commission did the deed.

And next Davey Gullop will tell us all how he thought all along we had the wrong system in place but couldn't change it cos he really is just a messenger. BHAAAAAAAAAA as if he'd tell the trewth.

They need to bring in challenges for the coach or captain. A lot of errors can be fixed
