Embarrassing decisions by officials continue to give the NRL a black eye. The opening try of Saturday night’s Warriors - Roosters clash was a classic example. Everyone at the ground and watching on Fox Sports could see Warriors hooker Alehana Mara had grounded the ball over his own tryline - yet somehow video ref Bernard Sutton awarded a try to Roosters centre BJ Leilua.

How did I know he was going to mention this? Yeah we were the ones who got all the good decisions go our way.

The only good thing he does is say what a great debut Moga had and how he is one to watch for the future. He'll probably write a roosters club in crisis article in the weeks to come and how we should offload Moga because he's causing us too much trouble with his.......... I dunno , he'll make something up.

As soon as I saw it I thought there was a case for simultaneous grounding. I would have been happy for the decision to go either way to be honest, but why no mention of the Johnson try which was just as contentious?

Spot on HC, on all counts. The johnson try was a "square up" for the Leilua try so worriers supporters and slothfield have no grounds for complaint.

Havn't seen the game as I was at the Knights v Cowboys game. Have seen one reply of the Leilua try and thought it was wrong. Give Slothfield some credit he did say Moga had a good debut lol.

It's a 50:50 call at worst if not a 60:40 call our way. Simultaneous grounding meaning an advantage for the attacking team.

What about the shoulder charge which wan't a high shot, or the tautau try which was disallowed, or the mini play the ball which should have been a stoppage for injury,...........should I go on.

The Cordner shoulder-charge should never have been a penalty. That's for sure.
Moga's disallowed try was because of a knock-on. Correct decision..
Mini's play-the-ball. Well, that's footy. He actually could have been penalised. (Even though it was the same result from the farce they called the scrum).

I thought the worst decision was when a Warrior put the ball down on Mose's foot, for it to be first called a knock-on from the main ref, only to be over-ruled by the pocket saying Mose kicked the ball, which he clearly did not...

Same here mate and I was absolutely shocked when we got that decision. They then squared it up by disallowing the Moga try which imho was about 80% chance of being a fair try.
