  • The Pied Piper

I was sitting there watching a game 2 years ago thinking about what was ahead for the roosters over the next two years with Brian Smith at the helm.

    More player unrest.
    More poor performances.

I was openly critical of the duration of his contract and what he stood for as a person.

It seems under our current structure of the football club the roosters operate under a dictatorship.
Sure, a very generous and passionate, even loving dictator...but a dictator none the less.

He had sacked 4 previous coaches before term and the fifth was looking shaky.

I decided to take aim at Politis.
I dont even know if he reads any of the stuff on this website.Probably not.
I do know that I dont regret what I have written for one minute.
    IT aint China.
I feel there is this overwhelming reluctance to question anything that Nick has done. It is seen as disloyal and being typecast as not a "true" supporter. That might be true if any supporters had any power.

I feel accountability is essential in keeping every corporation successful. Yet we have none of that.
We cant vote. We cant give any valuable feedback.
    The dictator rules all.
The club lives and dies by the actions of the dictator.
But when the dictator gets personal,
with a wave of the hand the power flows and the magic begins.

So where does that leave the roosters for 2013.

The best recruitment drive in 10 years.
A coach that the supporters can all believe in. A new fresh face.
A determination to get things right off the paddock.

This year the roosters are the real deal.
    An amazing turn around.

    To the dictator I say

    "well done."
Youve got it right this time big boy.

Strap yourselves in ladies and gentlemen.
The heavy artillary is firing at Bondi again.
    Bang Bang Bang
    goes the guns.
    Ratta tat tat
    went the rifles.

    The roosters are back.
    Congratulations to all concerned.
I will watch every game they play with enjoyment.
    barbarian ......arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!

things look promising, but the season hasn't even begun

in the past what appeared on paper to be "good recruitment" did not deliver

keep your praise on hold until at least mid season

When we signed Mason, Anasta and a bunch of other flops people said:
      a) We were massive cheats.
      b) We would be premiers.

Neither came true. The current boys look good (I don't think they could have recruited much better) but we'll have to wait and see.

For a minute there I thought you were going to bang on with the same stuff. You need to let it go Trew.

I did like the heavy artillary bit though.

I'll reserve my judgement to see if Daniel Anderson is as much a Roosters supporter as people say he is as Robert Finch was a Dragons supporter.

Although I can see us losing penalty counts and winning games as we did in 2010.

What looks good for the future is the Coaching staff have addressed our structure , the Forwards are going forward with enthusiasm and unity while tackling with power , we have wingers who can finish instead of stealing ground scooting out of half, Maloney adds another dimension which allows JuJu to exploit and the backline has the potential to be electric with speed and skill to match.
For my money OUR Pied Piper has all his Kids marching in the right direction.

Every now and then Trew sneaks out of the ward and finds the internet-Watch American Horror story season 2 = Roosters

                    Have to agree trew.

I reckon they are finally getting it right.

Is the fact that Noyce is not there any coincidence?

many criticise our recruitment drive of mason, o'meley, myles and anasta in 2008. it went well.
we finished fourth or something like that, and if it weren't for a terribly inexperienced halfback, we could've gone further than the second round of the finals.
we have better backs than we did in 08, better forwards than we did in 08, do we have a better coach? time will tell.

It would be more spit in the eye than indifference.

                            Nothing to do with Noyce.
Like I said, when Nick gets fair dinkum, east to win.
