  • Did Maloney just play himself into a blue jersey

has been our best player this year, absolutely shat all over Reynolds tonight, surely it will be Pearce/Maloney for NSW in game 1 this year.

Looks like we will be without Maloney and Pearce against the Dogs next time around. Luckily it's the only game they'll miss over Origin with the way our Byes fall.

I actually hope he doesn't play for the blues.

Whether the blues win or lose, it takes it's toll on the players mentally and physically.

Mortimer at 1/2 and SBW at 5/8 if this happens??

They say that playing Origin football will improve ones playing ability but the way Maloney played tonight, he really does'nt need to improve to wear the Blues No. 6 jersey, but I say I'd be happy for him to play origin, I'm sure Maloney would love to be selected to play too.

This situation proves how much of a joke it is.

The premier competition loses its best players during the rep season.

                  It would work.

For the life of me I don't understand why Robinson puts SBW in the scrums.

He'd be triple marked in the back line in those situations.

He'd either break the line anyway, or get the ball to players in space.

I total agree with that comment, pull him out of the scrum, he would draw a lot of attention leaving some space on the short side or if they defend 1 on1 rather than slide defence it would give him a chance to over power a smaller centre opposing him. I was thinking the same tonight.

Might as well continue this recent trend of chooks and ex-chooks playing halves for the Blues.

                          Definitely.
I'd say we'll be missing Pearce, Maloney and Jennings during the Origin period. Our byes fall in good weeks though so let's just hope that it doesn't take too much out of them and they can stay injury free!

Gee I'm torn about the Maloney for SoO. You'd have to think they'll stick loyal to the incumbent former raider/Rooster short of injury preventing such loyalty.

As to Bansai's earlier excellent point about SBW packing into scrums, I'd love to know the reasoning for that approach as opposed to him being out of the scrum.
