I just can't see Toddy not playing, it just doesn't make sense that he wouldn't be named unless he is actually playing.

1.) If he's touch and go (I'm sure he would be given until the last second to prove his fitness) surely he just gets named regardless

2.) If he's actually injured, surely they still name him in the squad (Souths prep would involve running Burgess/Taylor at him all day) and to their surprise their target in attack is not there.

It just doesn't make sense to not name him, unless he IS playing!

You might be right. In fact, I would normally agree with this thinking. But I don't like what the club doc supposedly said. And the reason for them not naming him in this instance might be to take the spotlight and pressure away from him for a week after the recent drama and now a setback to his recovery.

I think your first scenario is possible. That they will give him to the last minute (but that they haven't named him for the reason I've given above). Hoping so anyway.

It's typical telegraph journalism... they had the scoop but didn't actually quote Orchard. The only quotes I've seen was from Braith on FSN and he wasn't that convincing to be honest.

Perhaps it's a ploy to take some media pressure off Todd - I just can't see him not playing.

Gotta agree, it deadset sounded like we were resting him the way Braith answered that. Toddy will be given a hard run and some contact on Thursday......if he pulls up OK on Friday morning he'll play, for now though he's "out".

the professional punters have insiders in every club and the weight of money that shifted to Souths as soon as news filtered out that Carney wasn't playing was very significant which is a clear indication someone inside our club has leaked the fact Carney is definately out.
