Linnet is in the unfortunate position of playing in the same channel Anasta likes to clog.

He is a quality young player. He can finish a try, as well as set up his outside man.
His best attribute however is his defence. For a young bloke he is mature beyond his years. Does all the 1 percenters.

His downfall is being able to create his try on his own alas SKD. That will come with size and getting comfortable in his long frame.

If we put up with SKD for all these years, we can put up with Linnett who does not bring half the headaches that the backpacker brought us over the past seasons.

    Vote 1 Linnet

Omfg our pack is shark bait. The only way we'll win is if Mose jams a gas cylinder up Gallens @rse and Braith fires a bullet into it............from row 15.

Well put Big Mike, I agree Kane is is a good young kid who offers our team plenty in attack and defence. Look for him and Naughton to strike this weekend.

I feel ashamed for equating Braith Anasta with Roy Scheider.

Braith Anasta is Jaws: The Revenge bad.

Surprised no comments in this thread about Steve Naughton on debut.

I know nothing about him. Anyone care to describe his "playing style"?

              He's a diabetic apparently.

If you were down to your last $20 what would you spend if on: Insulin

At the Jets, Naughton and Linnett played next to eachother. Would have formed some sort of centre/wing combination.

Naughton came via Canberra 20's in 2008/9 Toyota Cup, player of the year in 2009, team included Dugan, J Carney, Vidot, Crocker, Lowe, Picker, coached by David Furner!

Naughton is basically a tall/lanky fullback/winger with good speed. Has done ok at the Jets without anything spectacular. But is a good finisher and can find the tryline. Similar build and style to Linnett. Defence a little dodgy.

Will be interesting to see how he handles first grade.

I've got big wraps on Naughton, very smart & safe player.

Do you think there is any chance Anasta could try playing like a second-rower this weekend and leave the ball-playing and kicking to Pearce and Carney..??

He tackles well, so he just needs to concentrate on hitting the ball up hard and maybe getting an occasional offload going..??

Let's just get back to winning, rather than looking for miracles.

Team looks good, I would have Myles at lock, Nuuausala on bench, and Masoe at prop however.

                        1. Anthony Minichiello
                        2. Steve Naughton
                        3. Kane Linnett
                        4. Shaun Kenny-Dowall
                        5. BJ Leilua
                        6. Todd Carney
                        7. Mitchell Pearce
                        8. Jared Waerea-Hargreaves
                        9. Jake Friend
                        15. Mose Masoe
                        11. Mitchell Aubusson
                        12. Braith Anasta
                        10. Nate Myles
                        Interchange:
                        14. Lama Tasi
                        13. Frank-Paul Nuuausala
                        16. Mark Riddell
                        17. Tom Symonds
                        18. Tinirau Arona

Looks much better, backrow has a grafter again, Nuuausala used off bench for impact. When Kennedy returns he should walk straight in for Tasi...as for Ryles, I wonder if he is ever going to take the field for us again? Seems a lot like O'Meley 2009 at the moment - had a great 2008, started 2009 off very quietly, got injured, and never played for us again.

I'd possibly have J Carney replacing BJ Leilua, replacing Riddell on the bench with Arona 18th man.

Well Jeremy Smith is out for the Sharks as well, losing this would be unacceptable.

Naughton is no better than Graham.

From what I have seen at Newtown he gets rag dolled playing down there.

I know Carney made some mistakes but at least he has some size and speed, he should of been given another chance.

Their pack is still better than ours.
