Manu is not a very good ball player, that instantly rules him out for mine in regards to any move to the halves.

He looks talented after viewing a number of different games, but splitting open defences in the lower grades he has been playing is a different kettle of fish to 1st grade. He is on easy mode.

.......and bear in mind, plenty of Roosters commentators also thought Jackson Hastings, Jayden Nikorima, Luke Towers, Ryan Williamson, Setimata Sa would set the world afire......

A lot of people are raving about Walker but have never seen him play.

He looks very good. But so did Lam in that grade, as did Flanno.

Bottom line is: Ignore the crap spewed out by the chook pen (and the News Ltd media). Watch some games.

Dont know, a Queenslander SOO player friend of mine he will be ready for first grade early in his career ..rates him the best player to come out of there in a while.
So for mine he has all the moves and grooves just has to get his body in shape for a hard year ....he might wear out by seasons end or stand tall . he is a game controller .

Unless it’s with one hand while he is fending someone off, can Manu pass? I like the idea of a big body like Whighton at 6. And traditionally five-eights can’t tackle so maybe Manu fits the bill.

Trent is always saying the path will be different.
We tried to clone Cronk at 7 , not going to work , and if Lam didnt do his ankle Flanno would not have made it back in the team.


We have some of the best footballers in the our team.
Teddy and Keary but they cant do it on theier own , especially if we have Jake at 9 tacking himself out of the game.
Now lets talk about the times when we were desperate for points etc and Joey Manu roams around trying to get involved , good on him.
He needs to be more involved.
Consistently one of our best weapons , speed to burn , great ball skills.
Defence at centre can sometimes be off.

Yeah yeah , I know he's great at Centre but.

Keary to 7.
Manu to 6.

Give him a pre season there , he will be a weapon.

Who plays right centre then ?
I'm sure we have someone , Billy Smith if fit.

Leave Manu in the centre & let Robbo work out who will play halfback next year with Keary at 5/8.

As I wrote elsewhere, it is good to think laterally and outside the square on these things, but I believe Joey should stay right where he belongs - i.e. in the centres. It works, so let's not try to upset the apple cart, with a high risk venture with potentially little or (most likely) no gain.

Every now and then I think Manu should switch it up and play inside stilli when we are in attacking range.
He would be a great 5/8 but with Keary and Walker at 6 and 7 it won't happen at the roosters.

The chooks need to be more inventive to bring him into the game
