Roosters coach Trent Robinson won’t concede Brett Morris’ career is over until the 34-year-old himself makes a call on his future.
Morris went down with a torn ACL on Saturday night during their 38-4 win against the Knights, in what was likely the veteran’s last game in the NRL.
Sydney Roosters winger Brett Morris has torn his ACL, scans have confirmed, in a potentially career-ending injury.
But Robinson said a comeback could not be completely ruled out for Morris, who he said would make a definitive call on his career in the coming weeks.
“He hasn’t retired,” Robinson said. “We just need to cool our jets a bit and see where Brett’s gonna make that decision in the next week or two about what he’s thinking there. Brett can do what he wants.”
Robinson said while he’s aware Morris is nearing the end of his career, the final decision needed to be made by the player.
“Let’s not get past where we’re at the moment as that’s in the future. We don’t need to answer those questions right now cause I don’t have the answer,” he said.
