Nothing could ever beat Sydney for the opening or the Olympics games overall, it was agreat time to be Sydney, it was absolute magic.

As Carlos Parra said the lone horseman galloping into the stadium was chilling, the whole ceremony was just perfect, even waiting for the cauldron which stalled before it finally moved into place for Cathy Freeman to light it just added to the spectacle and proved even how many times you rehearse some things can still go wrong at the end.

This clip shows Olivia and John Farnham performing Dare To Dream and also Olivia with the torch, i teared up watching it again.

It still gives me a chill when that lone horseman gallops into the stadium.
Sydney was the best by a long way.

That Faith Nathan for the Australia Women's 7's Rugby Side is quick

Ireland has had all the ball the last 4 minutes and finally score and convert the try - 7 all nearing half time

          Australia scores -conversion missed

Australia 12 vs Ireland 7 - Half Time

The Ref made some strange calls allowing Ireland to dominate possession - Aussies down to 6 players after a sin bin- defended well

              Full Time

              Australia 19 vs Ireland 14

Australia through to 1/4 finals - The Opponent TBD following the last round of pool games

It sure was. I think she was one of the most naturally beautiful woman ever placed on this earth.

I hate rugby union for that precise reason. I can never understand the rulings (though I admit I've never really attempted to learn them). The refs seem to be able to allow one team all the possession for huge swathes of a game making it tediously boring to watch. At least with Rugby League, the refs don't appear to exert as much control (except when Easts are playing).

I was a bit puzzled watching the bronze medal play off between South Africa and Australia in the mens, the match winner for South Africa after the scores were 19-19, when the South African player went over in the in the goal he handed the ball to a player who was in front of him to ground the ball, what is the ruling on that in Union ? to me that was a forward pass or does it not matter once you are in the in goal.

I played Rugby from the under 8s until my teens . I never had a clue what was going on and I still don't, lol. I think there's are rule of 'no offside in goal' ?! I watched the Aussie girls decimate Ireland in the sevens . Very , very skilful , athletic , fast and entertaining. They play Canada in the semi final to get into the gold medal game . Good luck girls . ! How good are are our female athletes ?

I personally believe Molly has been playing Titties for the past couple of years lulling her into a false sense of security until the race that really mattered. It was a fairly dominant performance when you look at it.,
