Side note, I'm not there this year but I always loved how quiet/still everything was the day after Mardi Gras. There was a particular feel to it all.

Man now I'm buzzing to move back there. Maybe one day when somebody offers me a $$$ job in Sydney.

When i was living around Darlinghurst and Surry Hills many many years ago the following day was always interesting, the venues would be open for recovery parties and often would be blacked out or darkened and they would have fresh fruit on the bar then sometime you would hear the beat of a song and then the enhancements from the night before would kick in again

I'm just thrilled to see our beloved city full of life, colour, people, music and love again, welcoming visitors from all over the world. Having a good cry reading some of the stories of how much this means to so many people who had suffered in silence and isolation previously. Everyone needs to find their tribe and I'm happy and proud to live in a city which encourages just that.

        Absolutely Everybody..

Just have the tale end of the Rage Mardi Gras special playing right now, some absolute crackers in there. A rarely heard song ( apart from my IPOD ) was on earlier by Paul Parker back in 1982/83. Thought he may have been one who may have passed on but was happy to see he was still alive and well and still performing when i was last in San Francisco back in 2014.

Well I hope everyone had a happy Mardi Gras Being very tired from not sleeping Thursday night and then a day out at the races yesterday I was very tired and was asleep quite early so I missed all the festivities On the way home from the races we did see lots of people who were dressed to party at the Mardi Gras

That would have been so good growing up so close to the Sports Ground Horrie. I used to have to rely on ‘round the ground’ scores if Easts weren’t on the SaturdayABC game. I wasn’t allowed to watch Rex Mossop either as the Sunday replay was on too late! Mind you I didn’t start following the game till about 1977 after the drawn GF.

It was a great spot to grow up at, if you weren't at the games you could hear the roar of the crowds from the Sports Ground and SCG, the half time and full time sirens, also the roar of the speed cars at the old showground when the speedway was on.
Mind you when i was very young i was more intent on playing on the Paddo Hill than watching the game.

It's been such a privilege to hear all the great stories coming out of World Pride. For myself and friends and family, I'm grateful to live in an era where diversity is celebrated. I'm looking forward to watching all the footage on iview properly as I have some time off work coming up.

Here's a bit of Kylie & Danni with All The Lovers, one of my favourites of hers..Enjoy!

We met lots on our walk yesterday and it was lovely, particularly down at the Opera House. I got talking to a young couple visiting from Israel and had told them that Dad was born in Lebanon. They were telling me how beautiful it is.

Thought i would bump Izzy's thread from last year.

It would be a more sombre celebration this year with the murder of Jesse Baird and Luke Davies, the overcast skies reflect the mood.

Here is a great moment in time from Mardi Gras years ago.
