Struggling to find any impact like he did at the Storm because they were more settled in the halves and he could wait for his moment .
Is the real issue The Cheese, or the halves? He looks more dangerous in attack than either of our two halves at the moment. Oh and he can tackle.

    • Its pretty hard to win any game when the opposition has 50% more possession. The amount of defense we had to do in that first half took a lot of our attacking gas and I think our game was a reflection of that. If we have 50% of the ball, we win that game. And if I'm a Manly supporter, I'd be very disappointed only winning by 7.

        definitely not ,
the problem is our spine play like they are strangers . I was hoping we had leadership material when the chooks signed b smith

        • We needed a big boot today when we were bogged down in our half....instead we have two halves on big coin with the kicking game of a shit SG Ball team

Yet looking at the game stats, it would appear we won the kicking duel - Roosters 480m from 17 kicks, Manly 384m from 17 kicks. Admittedly Manly were kicking from more attacking positions but I've thought that Walker is kicking longer. this year. I suspect he picked up a knee injury in the first half that may have limited his involvement though.

            • Manly could do all right this year
they still have Saab to come back as well as Schuster, lodge and sipley in the forwards
that’s one big forward pack and quick backline

              • We are still rebuilding.

Manu must share part of the blame, he was missing from his right centre position, leaving Dom to try to tackle the centre and the winger.

Big is best...and Manly has a big team.
Our team is not so big...so we were run over.

Agreed... he pulled off what COULD have been a crucial run with about 10 to go. However, we then coughed the ball up and then went nowhere.

The Cheese is QUICK!!! I've said it before but he has 'footy speed'. I dunno how he changes direction like that but he sells the dummy like a master (facial expressions and all) then just sorta APPEARS on the other side of the ruck, 15m down the field.

IMO the Cheese wasn't bad at all. He made 4tb, 26tk and 44km in ~45 mins. Terrell May is the only other bloke who was busting tackles like that tonight.

                    • Don’t get the knocks on rads, reckon he’s been very good so far this season.

Stats like that with kicking are misleading as you state.

Not sure what happened to Walker. He walked to the sideline in front of us and was basically coming off

                          Too easy for Manly.
I know Souths have been poor but their left side could expose that side of ours big time Friday. The saving grace may be Walker definitely looks like he is playing injured

Tbh if Billy Smith is fit, Young may be the odd one out. Plenty he needs to work on after that performance.

Not sure what many expected from young to be honest, he was a great finisher for the knights, but his hands and bomb defusing weren’t the greatest, and I’m pretty sure he wasn’t their main meter eater, they used marzhew and gagai a lot for that.

Dom is there for his speed, and we need to give him the opportunities to optimise it.

wasn’t too many smart kicks to any of our tall timber yesterday.
