He particularly singled Sammy out and said, "He doesn't score a hell of a lot of tries but he does so so much and is so so important to this team." After which all the players and everyone else gave loud applause.

Sammy is a very important part of this side - as much off the field as on. And he absolutely loves the club.

By the way, at the get together today Sammy told me his baby is recovering and should hopefully be out of intensive care in the next couple of days. As a father it is a terrifying thought and my respect for the guy has increased (when I didn't think it could be higher).

I too have the utmost respect for Sam Perret. So much so That previously on this site I have called for him to be club captain

The good news is that sams kid is now out of intensive care but still faces at least another month in hospital.
