I know what you meant. I'll rephrase. We need speed on Perrett's wing so that Todd Carney has more options to counter a compressed defense.

I have lost count of the number of times Todd Carney has thought about kicking and changed his mind knowing Perrett wouldn't be quick enough to get there.

I'll stick my neck out about matching him for dummy half runs. He has shown that when he was in Canberra. The defense bit is a no brainer.

i completely agreed in fact i have made this point before about perrett not really fitting into any category as a winger - not really a try scoring weapon, not a speedster and not a high ball specialist. do i think is valuable, yes; should he be banished yet, probably not but i honestly believe that j-carney can offer at least just as much

A legal thing?....I don't see how if that's the case!
Why bring it up at all then?
It just leads to speculation....... and that's exactly what happened with people spouting off names left, right and centre!

JT knows what he knows and says far less than he knows.
Because he knows what he knows and lot of that stays as what JT knows.
And those that know what JT knows know that what JT knows is what JT knows and that what he knows is more than Teabags on Korean knows.

                    So Trust JT he know.

KB I am sure that JT and a few others are in the know. The problem is if you come on the forum and partly say what you know then other names are going to be thrown up. In that other thread 3 or 4 innocent players were implicated. OK most thought it was either Friend or Conn and one of them is innocent. If Friend is the innocent one you have people calling for his sacking. If Conn is the innocent one, people are saying that is why he is playing for Newtown and he is out of favour. If you know and you aren't willing to name names then isn't in the best interest of all parties to keep it to yourself? Otherwise it is the old "I've got a secret but I'm not telling" mentality. It becomes more damaging than informative.

Just throwing up and option here, we all know Smith wont drop Riddell unless he has a hooker to replace him, and he probably wont start Friend either. So why not, start Braith at hooker and Symonds can start in the second row? Like old days of starting Crocker at hooker.
After when Friend comes on around 20 minutes, Anasta can move to second row and Symonds drop back to the bench. After second half, Symonds will replace Anasta and then Anasta will come on late in the game etc.
Or leave Symonds out there and just have Anasta keep swapping with FPN.

                        1. Minichiello
                        2. Perrett
                        3. Linnett
                        4. SKD
                        5. Leilua
                        6. Carney
                        7. Pearce
                        8. Myles
                        9. Anasta(c)
                        10. Moseo
                        11. Symonds
                        12. Aubusson
                        13. FPN

                        14. Friend 15. JWH 16. Kennedy 17. Ryles

There is one unfortunate reality that we have to face, and it is a reality that will hinder our success for at least the next two years. Personally, I hate this reality, and wish it wasn't so, but it's very hard to keep denying it -

Braith Anasta does not fit into this team.

Yes, other changes are needed - we could look at bringing in JCarney, starting one of JWH/Mose, dropping Riddell for Symonds, etc. etc. But it has to be said and accepted - there is no place for Braith in this side.

For all his positive qualities - his leadership, his attitude, and his professionalism - he is neither here nor there. He is not the best 5/8 at the club - see Todd Carney. Nor is he the best backrower - see just about all of them. He cannot play on the bench, for he is our captain. In effect, he's what Kurt Gidley is to the Blues. A coach's dream, but a dream that just doesn't work.

Before the season started, when I was bored, I tried to come up with our best side. First, I pencilled in the obvious choices - Pearce, Carney, SKD etc., along with Anasta. Then, as I tried to squeeze in the likes of Leilua, Symonds, MAubs, Mose and JWH, I realised that a couple of quality players would have to miss out. Players who run harder and tackled hard than Braith does. These players were sitting on the bench, or were being sent to Newtown, because Braith was given a spot in the team.

Yes, we might miss Braith's leadership, and his attitude. But for the sake of the entire teams on-field performance, the best position for Anasta at the moment is Newtown. At a pinch, you could give someone like Nate the captaincy and put Braith on the bench. But we all know that wouldn't go down smoothly, and it certainly isn't going to happen.

Braith will remain in the side, and our on field performance will be worser for it.

I'd drop Ridell for Symonds and switch the two front rowers around. Apart from that the team is pretty much spot on imo players just need to lift their games.

Well its ironic hearing all this from our fans now when we pushed and petitioned to get him resigned recently for another 2 years
