I think it will be a few players: Keary, JWH, SST, Liu and Tetevano off the bench ! But the chooks biggest weapon (as seen against the Broncos last Friday night) is Mitchell ! If he gets enough ball or steps up with the mindset that he needs to pull off a hail Mary play at a certain part of the game...HE CAN DO IT and HE WILL DO IT !

Not sure if it was due to his shoulder injury but Pearce was very quiet last Friday night, Keary covered him a fair bit.

PS: Hope Toops is fit and ready to fire even though there were talks that he stuffed up his groin again.

He's probably not our best forward, but I'd nominate Naps as the one to go into overdrive. He's a player who is consistently solid but, every now and then, can produce a performance that can blast a team off the park.
I agree 100%. Naps won Origin 2 for QLD this year. 2nd spell, smashed NSW. Someone got in his ear cause her targeted obvious big hits on each of his 3 rooster team mates specifically. 1 nearly taking Fergo's head off. Loved it when Boyd got a huge hit back tho. Hated it at the time. Actually still not too impressed now. Could have ended up with a few roosters out of action for a long while.

He probably won't be in the team now that Tetevano is available.

yeah agreed - poor attempt at humor since he has been dormant all year. But better lately.

Only chance he plays is if Robbo leaves Watson out i think. Which might not be a bad call as he is completely under utilised lately. Not saying he should be dropped but if not being used and given the opportunity to contribute- may as well have another forward. All assuming Toops is good.

                Evans was outstanding against Brisbane.

                We need Watson for insurance.

This might surprise but I can see Matto having a big impact if he plays in the back row (even off the bench). A real good player in the making.

I am not surprised, he appeared all over the park last game.

Isaac - from the time of his recent 100 game milestone capped with scoring a try he has been brilliant. He tore Brisbane apart in the first half and I couldn't wait to see him come back off the bench in the 2nd half. A real unsung player in the team who never really gets any media accolades or recognition by some fans.

How good is this, of the 18 players likely to get a game next week in this thread 15 players have been mentioned as candidates for "who will stand up for the roosters" some who may not even make the side being Evans and Watson! Of the players not mentioned they are Maubs, Fergo and Friend whom i think it's fair to say stand up week in week out(fergo being the only exception but for the last 8 weeks he's been great bar one or two brain fades) so were probably overlooked by most of us because it's a given they will.

Great signs when basically the whole team plus one is a chance to "stand up". I know we are not putting 80mins together but i think this shows everyone is playing pretty damn well at the right time of the year.

                            Go the Chooks!

Turns out the answer was no-one. Still in disbelief. Opportunity lost. Hope they use it as motivation in 2018.
