While I'm not saying that the NRL is up to Pakistan in regards to match fixing standards, there is a perceived imbalance in some games.

I work out the grand final in three simple steps.

    1. Brett Finch was treated like the dirtbag he is by the Roosters.
    2. St George had crapped their pants every time they had been near the Grand Final in recent memory.
    3. Robert Finch was leaving the post he had served so wonderfully well (he makes that moron Stephen Conroy look competent) and had one last chance to help his beloved team to win a grand final.

The rest is a sad indictment on a once great game.

Didn't take long for Gallop, Finch and Archer to get rid of the evidence.

It is very unusual for an "undisciplined rabble" to make a Grand Final. And how do you explain other equally undisciplined rabbles giving so few penalties away when they play us?

I think Cronulla received the most or second most penalties last year..

Indeed they did, we absolutely copped it at Shark Park against them last season too. Gallen received 4 penalties at the ruck (3 for strips, 1 for Ryles not being square).....all 4 were incorrect calls, Gallen dropped it cold 3 times and he played it 2 steps to his right and Ryles gets called for not being square too.

Ricky in 09 hammered Finch into submission and had pretty much received favourable refereeing for the Sharks since. When Brian hammered the refs after the Canberra match we won the penalty count the next week too........Finch was literally the epitome of hopeless, worst referees coach/boss in the history of the game by far, has totally ripped the credibiltity of the referees apart under his reign.

And 2 out of 24 the year before.

And 6 out of 26 the year before that.

And why other teams with poor penalty counts magically concede fewer penalties when they play us.
                  This deserves a bump.

Look at these figures - this is a bloody scandal of massive proportions.

Even if we deserved to concede all those penalties for years straight (which we of course didn't), THERE CAN BE NO INNOCENT EXPLANATION FOR ALL THOSE TEAMS WE PLAYED MAGICALLY NOT CONCEDING AS MANY PENALTIES WHEN THEY PLAYED US!

Quite honestly, I do not see any logical reason why Politis and the club do not mount a public campaign highlighting this indecency. Copping it sweet DOES NOT WORK. (Fittler quietly fumed as coach at the mistreatment his side suffered).

The final insult, after making a GF against this tsunami of opposition by the games' owners, was that joke of a GF. 1 penalty and 30 points worth of crook refereeing decisions. And this after the tigers were shafted the week before in order that the NRL's "chosen ones" could advance to the GF. The anti-Easts media and the Wayne Bennett myth (this guys' sides have been offside in every tackle in defense for 30 years) do not distract us.

Come on, let's demand some answers!

The games where we won the penalty count, the biggest margin in our favour was 3 - against a very inexperienced Brisbane team at the SFS where we won the penalties 9 to 6. We won the count by 2 three times and by 1 once.

In contrast, our opposition frequently received huge penalty advantages. Many of these teams were not models of discipline:

NQ (away) 9 to our 4
GC (home) 9 to our 5
Cro (away) 12 to our 6
Parra (away) 11 to our 5
Brisbane (away) 8 to our 3
Cant (home) 7 to our 2
Canb (away) 5 to our 1
Cant (home) 10 to our 5

This has been going on now for years.

we need to turn the penalty counts around no matter how we do it

Only way to do that in my view is get Bennett as coach - different rules for his sides - but he's going to $ouff$ apparently.

Honestly, I used to think Hollywood Harrigan was the fairest of a bad bunch many years ago as a ref. But some of his calls last year were the worst all year, including some that helped maim us in the GF stitch-up.

With him in charge of the refs this year I cannot see an improvement looming, BUT, at least he does not have a personal agenda against us and in favour of the illawarra dragons, as Finch Sr did. Boy oh boy he sure got his vengeance against us last year.

Robert Finch and his gas-chamber attendant Tony Archer - "just obeying orders" - the 2 biggest cheats in the game since Keith Page - take a bow boys........

I have always disliked Harrigan as a referee and felt a little alone at times regarding him.
I am a believer in playing advantage but he turning it into "letting the game flow" and into a joke.
Harrigan started 2 trends that irked me
                            - He would let one team dominate, they could lie in the ruck for ages and get away with it, then penalise the crap out of the other. Affected the ability of a team to fight back.

                            - he started the destruction of the game with the "let the game flow" theory. I think it you break the rules then you get penalised, but play advantage when appropriate. He was just a big fan of warning players and then maybe eventually penalising them.

I think he worried that if he blew too many penalties he would look back, but he (and the Ch9 idiots) don't understand that if you blow the whistle a couple of times then players don't do it again
The Internet is a place for posting silly things
Try and be serious and you will look stupid
