If you were raised in the eastern suburbs and you moved away then you are not a bandwagon fan. It is about supporting your local team when you were first active in following rugby league. If you are from the bush or places without first grade teams then you are exempt from this but if you are from Sydney you should be following your local team from when you first started your interest in rugby league.

          1. I grew up in Paddo... lived in Japan and am now in Canberra. I go to as many games as possible. Can't say I'm a 'bandwagon' fan... I just didn't find a job near where I lived as a kid (and couldn't afford to raise a family there even if I did) - the market's competitive.
          2. My wife was born in Vietnam and married a mad Roosters fan. Go figure...
          3. Son's 5 months old, born in Canberra and is a member (who has already been to 2 Roosters games).
          4. I meet heaps of bogans who grew up in the east (when it wasn't prohibitively expensive) and they will wear ooold old Roosters jerseys to the RSL club. I'm sure they'd all have Double Bay mansions instead of govie flats in Canberra if they could afford the move.

Anybody's allowed to support a team and we all have our reasons. If all easts fans HAD to live in the eastern suburbs then NOBODY would go to games.
Where in the Easterm Suburbs can you get a $2m home?

Sorry BAW, im in a pickle,

Raiders came into the comp in 82, does that mean i had to change supporting the chooks because raiders came into town?

Can you tell me who i need to support before 2pm today, so i have a chance to make it to the raiders match so i can cheer them on?

When you find out the answer, can you please help me Mil? I was raised in Warwick, Qld, hometown of Wayne Bennett, however there were no Broncos until 1987. I followed Parra from up there because my sisters lived in Sydney at the time and that was where our relatives all lived. My mother moved to Bulldogs territory, Campsie, as a child, but followed Parramatta ( I guess that makes her a sinner!) She then moved back home to Qld in 1948 ( a year after the Eels were formed) but always hated Queensland teams, particularly the Maroons. I moved to Rose Bay in 2002 and became a Roosters fan before we won the comp so I can't be accused of being a bandwaggoner. I then moved to Melbourne for a year in 2011, so should I have retrospectively followed the Storm? I also was in London for a while during 2011, so should I have then followed the London Broncos during that time?

Im a bandwagon supporter & have been since 1966. The old Sports ground, jumping the fence & running for the corner post, playing touch footy on the field after the games with other little random kids, going into the dressing rooms about 1 hour after the game had finished to get autographs from the players, going to the games with other bandwagonners (pop my dad & brother) 74 75 & 1980 GF's at the SCG just a few bandwagon memories from my days starting out in Lakemba then Russell Lea, Drummoyne, Prison, Drug Rehab, Concord & now North Strathfield for 12 years.

London Broncos for you when you are in London Like it was Leeds Rhinos for me when I lived in Leeds When I lived on Gold Coast I was torn between two lovers with Roosters and Titans I felt like I was having a Rugby League affair Reading this I would have to say you are by BAWs thesis definatly a bandwagon supporter

Maybe I should support the darlinghurst roosters, from when they were called Sydney City, that makes me a bandwagon brad fittler supporter. Who does he play for these days? 😏

I reckon the criteria should be which hospital you were born in. If you were like me & born in St Margaret's Hospital Darlinghurst then that means that your first breath was an Eastern Suburbs breath. It is then that every new born whos first breath was a Roosters breath should then live in every corner of the globe & spread the word of the Rooster.

But then all you are converting over would be bandwagoners from all over the globe.

I reckon you have to stay in the Eastern Suburbs and only allowed to mingle with other Eastern Suburbs Supporters who live at Double Bay in their $2m-$50m plus residences or who sleep in the car in the Eastern Suburbs like Thirteen and BAW apparently do.

Should this apply to the players as well? Local juniors only? Wouldn't have much of a team would we? How about sponsors? Steggles are western Sydney based, they would be gone too. We would have 3000 people turn up at our home games watching a bunch of park footballers in BAW's world. I am sure BAW goes to games bagging bandwagon fans lol..

Looks like I have been on the Easts bandwagon for the last 40 years as well Lol 😛 ... Born and bred in flying vermin territory, but never supported Manly. Everyone at school thought I was weird not supporting the local team. I just wanted to be different. Was a little too young to enjoy and fully understand the greatness of the 74/75 teams. Went through the bad years of the mid 80's early 90's transit lounge days. We had some real Shit times! And have enjoyed the ride ever since. So do I qualify as a bandwagon supporter haha! Go Easts.

True dat, more like $5m plus in some suburbs and even that just gets you a luxury apartment and not a free standing mansion. All good that as my Great Grandparents (and Grandfather on my mom's side) are from and grew up in Waverley area so maybe I qualify under the Grand Parent rule.
