Working from home means I now know my neighbours a lot better and that is a good thing as some of them in this building are Roosters fans and we all look out for one another and help with shopping, pets and household issues etc. Oh and I must have been the only person who actually lost weight during lockdown as I can now go and walk for the pleasure of it as I'm not burned out from all the commuting. Its almost 12 months since I learned of my redundancy due to Covid and to be honest, I'm glad I now had the opportunity to shed everything and everyone that no longer serves a positive purpose in my life and replaced it with better choices.

Sorry to hear your DVD's didn't come but P & R is available in other platforms at different times. It took me 5 years to watch it all anyway. I did try 3 times to watch The Crown but I couldn't get past the first episode. I prefer watching documentaries as I like factual ones but I hope you enjoy it. Have a great weekend and it's good to see you back on here.
great to hear things are good with you, rwb. i haven't driven the cab since march (partly thru safety concerns, partly cos i don't want to work for $5 an hour - yes, it's that bad) and i've also exercised more. i wasn't looking to lose weight but i've lost the best part of 10 kilos which now puts me in the 'healthy weight' range. i've kept busy and happy otherwise doing this and that and passing some time with my gf who lives in the blue mtns.

yeah, p&r is still on the list. it's on netflix and i was thinking of doing the free trial and watching it that way sometime soon. one of the things i've been doing is reading a lot. i got a kindle and they had a free 3 month trial of their kindle unlimited books so that was good although when the trial finishes i don't think i'll keep the subscription as it doesn't include all the books i might want to read.

So what are people doing in America?
      Having Covid-19 parties!
You can call them BYOC parties. That’s bring your own COVID-19.

Health officials in Walla Walla, Washington, are admonishing the sudden rise in so-called “COVID-19 parties” where non-infected guests mingle with those who have tested positive for the virus, ostensibly in hopes of speeding up the process of catching, and overcoming, the virus.

Walla Walla needs a Nulla Nulla to knock some sense into people.

Thanks Zac and I'm glad you have been able to stay busy but I am sorry (and a little appalled) to hear that the cab driving yields $5 an hour. One or two of my friends are self employed, so I am mindful of their commitments, some are raising children and some are caring for elderly family members so they know that I don't get upset or offended if I don't hear from them from time to time. The best friend I can be to them is be one who doesn't nag or make demands on their time as they know they can pick up the phone or message me when they want to come and visit as I am lucky I have cafes all around me or we can go and get some 'serenity now' time down near the ocean. I'm happy you've been able to spend time with your girlfriend in the Blue Mountains too. Lots of serene spots to go and get some fresh air. Hope you both have a great weekend.

              • I'm shopping for friends and family now from this wonderful website set up to support businesses in the bush affected by bushfires, drought and Covid. They have gift cards too so the recipient can choose from over 500 small regional businesses.

Sorry to hear that about you cab driving job Zac. I never really stopped to think how the pandemic could affect cabbies but like a lot of other jobs we just take for granted, I guess it just makes you realise how much it’s messed with a lot of people’s jobs and livelihoods. The Uber situation too. I guess all the young people prefer it these days.

We’re not old Zac, just mature! Yep my boy made it into a uni. He got a great ATAR and I’m a very proud mum. He’s a bit upset though as many of his units have to be run online due to you know what. He says he wants to experience campus life and not to be stuck behind a computer. Hopefully it turns out ok for him. Hope all is well with you as well.

Congratulations MR. That is fantastic news for you and your family. He's a very intelligent person, just like his mother and I hope he enjoys his time at uni, Covid or not.
