Alas so true Andy. I certainly don't fit the dashing, irresistibly handsome figure of yesteryear (oops slipping into Izzy territory there). Instead I am now pretty much surplus to needs with Death, in W.H. Auden's words, "like a distant roll of thunder at a picnic". And, of course it's all evolution, there's no going back to any past idealised or otherwise, we all just keep movin' on for the time being anyway. The sheriff in No Country for Old Men lays it out succinctly.

I'm just hanging on for another Premiership. 25 year olds are safe from unwanted attention.

Only time We have actually been to Thailand apart from being in the airport was a few days in Bangkok to defrost after flying from Moscow via Shradinsk on the way back to Sydney- Late January one year. - Minus 20 odd Celsius.

              What, in Bangkok?

Had you been attending the Comintern? I knew something wasn't right about you King. I've used the same ploy, pretend to be fascist/right wing crazy to avoid suspicion. ASIO are such meatheads. Good to have you on board comrade, the Revolution awaits us.

Please don't disappoint and tell me that it was a Christian visit.

Interesting King. As a Russian from Ukraine how does your wife see the Russian position re NATO's eastern advance? Is she on board with all that anti Soviet stuff that you go in for?

"The other attendees" sound like sheeple. The World has a lot to thank the USSR for. It won the Second World War.

Well put it it this way the closest she has ever come to visiting the US is Canada as we have friends that live there although she did like Trump at one stage something about his supposed links to the KGB and the Kremlin.

As far as NATO goes she blames your chief suspect the US and doesn't admit there was anything wrong with the USSR and will not engage in any discussions on this so like Ukraine-Russia War such topics are verbotten.

No In Shradinsk and Moscow the minus temperatures - we had to walk from the plane in moderate snow in Moscow across a number of runways to get to the terminal behind a bloke with just a flashlight as a most planes were grounded and parked in these terminals so no terminals available to park the plane.

Also visited Chernivtsi and Uzhgorod as well on that trip which are cities in Ukraine - Flight to Kiev via Vienna and car to Chernivsti and overnight train from Chernivsti to Uzhgorod

Well My Wife along with her Family migrated to Australia in 1993.

Her Parents returned to Russia - Shradinsk when her Fathers Mother passed away as they took possession of the residence. A Sizable one too - A Military officers residence allocation for services during WW2/ the Great Patriotic War - Still had Pictures of Stalin and Lenin on the wall as My Wife's Grandparents were rusted on Communists to say the least. - I think he was a Political Commissar?

My Wife's Parents had residences in both Chernivtsi and Uzhgorod so My Wife's Sister and Brother returned to Ukraine to take possession of these although they permanently moved to Russia a few years ago and these are now leased - As I said previously once you finished your studies/military service you could be sent to anywhere in the USSR - My Wife's parents were sent to Ukraine

Although my Wife was born in what is Ukraine she identifies as USSR/ Russian and only ever spoke Russian she said when living in Ukraine.

The topic of Ukraine-Russia War is verbotten as My Wife when she obtained her Australian Citizenship had USSR as Country of Birth which the person handing out the Certificate mentioned and I still recall the groans and gasps of the other attendees.

I'd imagine they dont mind a laugh Voods but your intent is to add something more to Izzy's "Paeddo" tag. Hurt feelings or sumfin'? I don't know but it's nasty and unnecessary.

kerr was a member of the congress for cultural freedom which was financed by the c.i.a. but the main blame for the dismissal can be put on kerr. not a good look that kerr hid fraser in a back room at yarralumla because fraser had arrived before kerr got the chance to sack whitlam.

No blame at all on Kerr as when money bills can't be passed the country can't function simple as that.

The very Shonky Labor Government had to go - the election in 1975 was a landslide win to the NLP.

I totally back Kerr in his decision

granted the 75 election was a landslide but that was a question of who the people wanted in government for the next three years rather than a referendum on kerr's decision to sack whitlam. labor was elected for a 3 year term and always had a majority in the house of reps where governments are decided.

kerr should have granted whitlam's request for a half senate election. that was a viable alternative and would have meant that he wasn't reduced to the skulduggery of hiding fraser in a back room of yarralumla because fraser arrived to be appointed pm before whitlam had been sacked. straight shooters don't carry on like that.
don't forget that the reason that the libs had a majority in the senate was because qld and nsw non-labor governments had defied convention and replaced resigning/dead labor senators with non-labor senators.
also: supply had never run out - the u.s. congress has often gone closer to not passing money bills before a deal is done at the last moment without resorting to such drastic measures.
